I've posted here before about a shmup I was working on. Well, now it's finished n' it's just hit the iOS AppStore. It's a beastly-tough horizontal shmup with really simple controls (no virtual d-pads here!) n' bite-sized levels perfect for bus (and... uh... toilet) trips. I'd sure love to hear what some shmup experts have to think of it.
We're working on the Ouya version now and then getting it out on Android. I'm nagging my team mate (he's the coder, so he holds all the cards!) to bring it to PC too. WHen I find the perfect bribe to sway him, I'll make sure to post a demo up for you guys.
These guys made some fun games.. however I basically beat those Ouya figures in less than 2 days with Chronoblast on XBLIG and I still have people requesting regularly that I stop procrastinating and do the PC port.
Show him the figures! Ouya is not a place for indies (especially shmup indies) to make a profit. I'm assuming since you're selling the game - that you are hoping to make money off it. Ouya is not where you will do this.
Working on an Ouya version is basically a waste of time - there's more demand on proper platforms like console and PC I'm afraid. Ouya flopped hard
We know there's no money in Ouya games, we just wanna put it on Ouya 'cause we like the whole indie console thing. And so we can say we've released a console game. Haha!
Haha! I'm all for the PC version. I've been nagging the hell outta my team mate about it for MONTHS! And now I've broken him! So there WILL be a PC version! I'll keep you guys updated on how it's going.
btw, if you're using Monogame or something like that for the porting - I've successfully converted XNA projects over to Unity in the past so you might find that if you try out Unity free or something - you might find you can actually do some hackery in there which immediately opens up not only PC releases but web based players for demos etc.
Anyway - format I can play on. Rad. We will be watching you with great interest young Skywalker...
