Something similar happened with Ibara:

The censored version looks better IMO.

Every one of these blogs remind me of the kind of moral puritanism you'd see out of hardcore religious right types, except this time it's coming from the left, with entirely different but equally stupid moral justifications.

Well no, not in and of itself, but there's some justification that Japanese male fantasies are excessive, excessively publicised, and in poor taste.

I think the clothed versions are aesthetically better to be honest, so Kotani did a fail somewhere.

You've gotta be joking :|

The censored versions have far less detail in every sense. The new (and even some of the old) clothing is mostly flat-shaded in them which really ruins one of Kotani's greatest strengths (shading and other lighting details).

Tastes change with the times. Often (especially in North America) "covering up" is driven by "puritanism" - however some prefer the mystery and enticement of what is covered up (more room for imagination). "Skinny" is also an artificial standard as it is a deviation from the optimal reproductive standard.

No, I think they're quite good. I prefer the less defined breasts, they look more attractive, and I don't think the loss of navel and pubic mound detail detracts at all from Kotani's work. Perhaps only Freesia is a step back, the lycra leggings aren't doing it for me.

Sloppy work on the censorship, but I'm more disturbed by Freesia's broken spine and double-jointed fingers on both versions.

I didn't even notice the breasts until that was pointed out. Ehh they're not really smaller, just less likely to take an eye out.

TBH Harmony is the only one of the original batch whose revealing cuts isn't totally trashy. *shrug*

Check your totally unlikely cartoonish anatomy privilege ;)

I do kind of like the more modest versions. Now that I'm no longer 15, characters in games and movies slinking around with some ridiculous outfit, when there's no reason for it, just feels like embarrassing pandering. Like HEY PLAY OUR GAME IT HAS BOOBS.

Surely one of the most idiotic phrases I've been running across recently; for some reason I can't understand "nerdgasm" shows up a lot too :x

I don't like Shuri's cyber camel toe in her No.1 costume in SDOJ. It's distracting.

I think I like this kind of racy content in games for the same reasons I like other over the top immature masculine fantasy crap like Saints Row or the newest Resident Evil movie. I appreciate dignified entertainment too but there's room for both, and lets be honest, even if Pink Sweets wasn't over the top sexualized, the game itself still falls into the stupid and ridiculous category so who cares? You're fighting toy robots for gods sake. Since we are fantasizing about ridiculous shit anyhow why not just go the whole way? It's not like anyone here expects women in real life to look or act like these characters, just like girls don"t expect real guys to look and act like Twilight characters. It's no more unhealthy a fantasy than military porn like CoD that's for damn sure.

It's all fun and games until somebody includes a fetish / fandom / sexy time you don't appreciate.

Who would put up with this in a game these days, anyways? Besides the few thousand people on the Infurnet (possibly a million, but they're too poor to buy video games because they spend them on art of their stable of fursonas), and people hanging on for the next happy jaunt of Trevor McFur or Crystal & Co. I tried to find a specific game, but all I could find were threads of people classifying "Demon's Crest" as a furry game.

Well yeah, I'm not saying I like everything I see in games, but if I don't like what I see there's plenty of other incredible options. Rather than call for censorship why not just go play Ketsui?

I guess more importantly I'm not surprised by personal preference against games that feature objectionable content, but this expectation that the creators should cater to my specific tastes instead of the community they are targeting who actually enjoys such content is ridiculously egotistical.

"Leonard Drill" is a much, much better name than "General Patent," who is presumably going to be made into leather after his career is over, despite the more usual retirement lion general's retirement option of becoming a rug. Nobody post that scene from The Shining now.

Anyway, I didn't know that about ol' Leonard. Furry games are actually (surprisingly) one of those big unknowns for me. With stripes.

I always thought that was Leo's rabbi taking over for him after he died in the first loop.
