Are you sure it wasn't a plane that looked a bit like a spaceship?

(Now that it's mentioned, I remember seeing a spaceship shooter, probably a vert, at some pizza joint in the very late '90s or early '00s...hell if I know enough to start asking questions or even figure out what it could've been! There was lots of black on the screen 'cuz it was in space, and the graphics were detailed. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Viper Phase One.)

While we're on the topic, can you guys help me identify the pizza joint I played Raiden at in the early 90s? Downtown Chicago area, red booths, great mozzarella w/marinara, mushroom & anchovy thin crust that's making my stomach growl just to remember it... :[
