I made this list on Amazon.com called: "Know the best Sega Genesis, and Sega CD games?"
It's a list of all the good Sega Genesis games and Sega CD games made for the hardware.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/gu ... 03-7768912
I really want you guys to read it, and tell me if this is good or not?
If you want me to add a game, tell me the game and let me know why the game should be added on the list (the game must have a US release).
The best Sega Genesis, and Sega CD game list
Here's some additions with my opinion on whether they should be on a "best of" list:
Rocket Knight Adventures is a very solid sidescroller. Perhaps Sparkster as well even though it's not as highly regarded. Arguable.
El Viento is generally little known yet very highly regarded as a sidescroller. Arguably necessary.
X-Men and X-Men 2 Clone Wars were 2 popular sidescrollers for the Genesis. Arguable.
Where are the Disney title? World of Illusion? Quackshot? Aladdin? The Lion King? These were some of the most respected sidescrollers of their time. Necessary.
You listed Shining in the Darkness twice.
If you planned on including Light Crusader, which many find quite average, you should really include Warsong, which was arguably a better SRPG than Shining Force. Arguably necessary.
Golden Axe III was never released in the US.
Mega Bomberman is probably the best multiplayer game for the system. Arguably necessary.
Gain Ground is legendary for being a strategic top-down action game. Necessary.
General Chaos is widely praised as a fun multiplayer half-action,half-strategy game. Arguable.
Herzog Zwei is highly lauded as one of the first and best RTS games. Necessary.
Pirates! Gold is perhaps the most well-respected RPG-strategy hybrid on the Genesis. Arguably necessary.
New Horizons (Uncharted Waters II) is a little known yet widely appreciated seafaring RPG. Arguable.
Both Toejam & Earl games were lauded as the best weird puzzlers on the Genesis. Necessary.
Virtua Racing is arguably the best racer and undeniably the most technologically impressive game on the Genesis. Necessary.
As for Final Fight CD, the "better than arcade" seems a bit misleading when more accurately, the visuals aren't nearly as good while the music is better.
Eternal Champions CD is IMO a must on the list for being a great fighter (although characters are WAY unbalanced). Necessary.
Since you list Flashback for the Genesis, you really ought to have Heart of the Alien for the SCD. Arguably necessary.
Dark Wizard is a very favorable RPG respected by all SCD fans in the know. Necessary.
Shining Force CD is a very rare yet excellent remake of the 2 Game Gear SF Gaidens. Necessary.
Overall, very nice list that includes most all of the popularly recognized bests on the systems.

Thank you so much, and I will add all of those games on the list, and also will fix the mistakes.Ganelon wrote:Here's some additions with my opinion on whether they should be on a "best of" list:

Please guys, any more good games to add?
Edit: The list has been updated, check to see if you can spots any more mistakes.
You can also give me comments on how to improve the list (like add more games, etc.)
Edit 2: The reason why I added all of the games onto the list because if people like the game (I check each game for reviews), and the reviews are great, then the game is a good enough to be added on the list.

Neon wrote:Devil Crash
Outrun
Rainbow Islands
Chiki Chiki Boys (arguable)
Seem to be missing.
Seem to be. Any chance you could alphabetize?
Also, IIRC Gunstar Heroes is like $10 max
Alien Soldier is a necessity for Treasure fanboys.
Alphabetize is so hard man!!! (I'm kind of lazy, but we'll see about that!)
Alien Soldier didn't have a US release so I'm not adding the game onto the list (This is a US game list).
Outrun had horrible reviews because it didn't had the scaling feature that was on the arcade board (Playing the game on the Genesis was horrible).
I never saw Gunstar Heroes for $10, I never did (I mostly see $20-50 for that game).
Keio Flying Squadron will be added on the list (I totally forgot about that one

The other games you recommend Neon, I will have to check them out.
Yes and no. The games that were highlighted are games that you can buy right now thru amazon.com. I can only highlight about 50 games (amazon rules, not mine). I was thinking about encluding a list of Japanese-only titles, but the problem is not many people know how to play MegaDrive titles onto a Genesis. If you can give me a list of good Japan-only titles, and a website on how to play imports on a Genesis, that I would be happy to include a Japan-only MD list.Seven Force wrote:Yip, I agree, Keio must be in the list.
The general problem with your list though is, that you can only include US releases though, since it's on Amazon.com, right? If you could include Japanese games, that would leave room for so many more excellent titles.
