Here comes the mobile 3D shmup with the smallest ever filesize (even beating Trisector's if released on the iOS App Store), Exp3D. Made by Breaking Byte, according to the developer this free shmup, infused with some doses of bullet hell, is "a tribute to old-school shmups like Ikaruga or DoDonPachi."
Some Features:
- 4 chapters with unique bosses
- 60 FPS fast-paced action
- Full 3D environment and ships
- Epic (dramatic) soundtrack
- Bonus and ship upgrades (can be used only in the "full version")
- The ship has a lifebar; if it is emptied, a life is lost.
- No scoring system but each chapter's completion stat
- Where is the Exp3d ship's hitbox indicator?
Orbs are the only in-game currency. They can be gathered from defeated enemies. Orbs can be spent to upgrade the ship, and to unlock new chapters. Buying orbs with real-life money is the game's only IAP.
Be ready to abound with questions like "how to unlock the so-called full version" and the likes.

I express my apologies for posting a bunch of mobile shmup threads in this forum in recent months, because some members perceive them as "spam." I have to redeem myself.
Re: Exp3D (Android)
For a freeware shmup it looks ok. But nothing special.

Not too bad, it's fun anyway.
One teeny tiny request though -- please add an audible cue when the special weapon is recharged! Or maybe move the indicator to another location. It's way too difficult to see in the bottom corner there.

Hi, I'm the person who made Exp3D.
I'm glad the game didn't draw too much criticism so far, and that some of you even seem to appreciate it.
shmuppyLove > you're right, adding more sound effects is on my TODO-list.
oboewan42 > the Android version is both a "demo" and a "full version"
Actually I wanted to reward hardcore gamers: players who clear each level at 100% are able to play the entire game without spending any money at all.
The "full version" is for people who just want to enjoy the game without having to "do a perfect" or who want to upgrade their ship, or simply support the effort put into developing the game.
