Best option for Xbox 1 emulation output

Post by fogueman »

What do you think is better??

1.- Xbox - Component 480p - Framemeister Scanlines

2.- Xbox - Scart Output - Framemeister Scanlines (480i deinterlaced by the meister)

3.- Xbox - Vga Output - Slg3000

4.- Xbox - Component 480p - Slg hd

For xbox to SLG 3000 you will have to add an extra device to the setup to output VGA, so better choice will be the SLG HD, or the XRGB Mini. But i have an extra setup for Xbox 1, component output in 480p to vga out, like xrgb 3, and then B1 mode out for extron Super Emotia, or MIMO genius box, or UVC, then select pixel perfect corret ratio in the emulator and ready to some 240p low resolution

also, dont forget Xbox ----Scart RGB----Extron RGB----CRT

or Xbox ---- VGA Box----- Extron Emotia -----CRT

Try to ask Philexile he's the specialist for "pixel perfect" settings on Xbox emulators ;)

especially if it's a super emotia, because it accepts SoG VGA.

A modded Xbox can output that directly, using either frosty's bios or boot disc.

I'm not even sure what the original poster means by "vga output". Only SoG VGA is possible without a stripper or transcoder.

oh, I see, thanks!

He probably meant a Neoya VGA box, so technically a transcoder.

my fault,I thought there were Vga cables for the Xbox 1, so I would need a Vga Box. I will go Component instead.

and I never understood how they could possibly work without a green tint. The diagrams I've seen only tap the sync from the green, not remove it.

A $25 Extron RGB does an excellent job however.

That actually works on most monitors. Many transcoders (Burosch Con-1 for example) just leave the SoG intact. The only display I've run into so far, which made problems, was a Pioneer plasma set, but then again this had a SoG/HV switch anyway.

I never had much luck with the VGA output on my Xbox, there was always a weird banding/ghosting to the image that would come and go, hard to explain but there was no difference I could see between component and VGA anyway so I just went back to component.
