FFII by shots?

Post by RGB32E »

Has anyone tried making this game a challenge by shots?! Any other RPGs to suggest?

No idea what this is about or why it was in the Shmups Strategy subsection. Moved to Off-topic.

Do you mean make it into a drinking game?

I would think just trying to play through it drunk would be silly ... shorter, twitchy, skill-based games are better suited for that.

But a drinking game for FFII, sure, you could do it I guess.

- Every time you get into a random encounter, take a shot.

I get the feeling this thread itself might have been made while drunk.

you could try to play Knights in the Nightmare drunk. That would be an adventure.

I'm a bit sauced atm too Obi! I find flashy but teeth-lacking games like SOTN a lot of fun to play with the handicap of a slightly sozzled nervous system (mucho relajación!). Unfortunately I'm busy typing up some coursework :[ Brutal DOOM is another great candidate! Take a shot every time you headshot an Imp with the "post-mortemly spasming, gore-spewing neck stump" animation!

Having ordered two Nyko Perfect Shot gun peripherals the other day (with Ghost Squad in mind, no less), I find HotD: Overkill (which I believe literally says "GOREGASM" when you are that awesome) more tempting than ever before. Some gun gaming about now sounds like a good idea.

I suppose if you wanted to do some sort of FFII challenge run [since the OP used the roman numeral, I'm assuming he meant "Final Fantasy" and not "Final Fight" or "Fatal Fury"] you could try to do a low-stat run...

... Then again, playing FFII isn't really worth it. Might as well do an All-White-Mage run on the original FF, which is a far better game.

How about a "no Aircar" run on the original Ultima?

Oh, here's a challenge: Save up enough money to afford Final Fight 2 or 3. Good luck.

I'm not sure if the OP meant the OG FFII or the renamed SNES FFIV, though. While it's not the definitive version of the game, FFII SNES is still very good and more fun than the botched GBA port.

I'm inclined to give the OP the benefit of the doubt. After all, Final Fantasy IV has been released under its correct name several times since 1998, and the real FFII is available officially localized many times over.

If anyone is still calling the game with Cecil and Rosa "Final Fantasy Two," they need to be slapped.
