A PAL game works on my Xbox 360-weird!...

Post by dave4shmups »

I went to GameStop a few nights ago, and got Aliens vs. Predator for my Xbox 360. After I had played some of it, I noticed that the disc said PAL on it, and the game box has the rating system used in Europe. The game plays flawlessly-no issues at all!

Is this uncommon, or do PAL 360 games generally work on NTSC machines?

some publishers do region free releases, other have region coding... Maybe 75% to 25% (free / locked) on the 360.

Yeah, I know Cave has done it, but I didn't expect this. I guess I'd have to get on a site like Play Asia to check, because it doesn't say anything on the box about being region free.

The EU PAL release of DoDonPachi Resurrection works as well, of course. Even better than importing region-free JP releases since it's gotten a full English localization
