IIRC the loop options let you access either loop without meeting the criteria.

Both omote and ura loops have suicide bullets from the enemies(but in different colours), Doom only shows up at the end of ura loop.

That's one of the things I like about the port. Ketsui AST > Ketsui OST

The "ALL YOUR BASE" achievement is unlocked by surviving the backwards scrolling section of Stage 5 without dying 5 times I believe.

Thx, damn that is pretty hard, I usually lose y last life on stage 4 and the first half of stage 5 is crazy. I cant imagine how hard the 4x 1ccs will be on both modes.

Stage 4 becomes manageable once you figure out in the first half, which side those jackasses come out of. You can handle the bullets better. For the second half, you have to be pretty comfortable w/ being right on top of those walking things on the ground, or you'll get it rammed up your ass (and not in the good way).

Cheers, I think its time to download the online replays and watch peoples stage 4 and 5 runs. Ima need all the practice i can get for the reverse scrolling part in under 5 lives. Should help me improve my game to.

Well first off, I'd like to say this port is pretty good from the several times I've popped it in. X Mode doesn't seem to have a second loop but seems like middle ground difficulty imo. I love the bullet cancelling mechanic and it definitely stands on it own though I can see most people playing the standard Arcade Mode due to 2 loops.

I'm not sure when it happened but I seem to have Free Play now on Arcade and 8 credits for X-Mode. Any tips for Stage 4 and 5? Seriously those walkers in Stage 4 and the entirety of Stage 5 are just insane lol.

Yea tell me about it, they literally want me to find the smallest opening in stage 4 and 5 or miss the chance lol.

Nice to see people discovering Ketsui for the first time. Such a masterpiece of a game, and so utterly unique (in the same way as Progear) in the way the bullet patterns work. It deserves to be remembered and re-released for new generations for years to come (and I'm sure it will be.)

You can output a 60hz signal on a PAL PS3.

Isn't this standard? If yours doesn't output 60Hz, then have a look at the system settings.

Im talking Standard Definition, not High Definition. Its not you cant play the game but you cant play the game on a standard definition NTSC monitor.I havent played the game yet but from memory the pal ps3 dosent output a standard definition NTSC picture. I should have made it clear, sorry.

http://manuals.playstation.net/document ... utput.html
The video mode options vary depending on the region where the PS3™ system was purchased. In North America, Asia and other NTSC regions, 480i video mode is displayed as [Standard (NTSC)]. In Europe and other PAL regions, 576i video mode is displayed as [Standard (PAL)]. For details, refer to the instructions supplied with the product.
While there is nothing explicit in the manual it leaves one with the distinct impression that NTSC ~ 60Hz for 480i/480p and PAL ~ 50Hz for 576i/576p.

However I fail to see how this is a failure on the part of 5pb.Games Ketsui PS3 port when in fact this is entirely a consequence of decisions made and implemented by SCEE/Sony (not that SCEA is any better). It seems that some people have imported a US or Japanese PS3 console to get access to 60Hz at 480i/480p.

yes, that's right. PAL PS3 units output 576i50 if connected through RGB Scart for example.

why ? this has been a problem for 7 years now. Nobody that's interested in SD 60Hz output uses a PAL PS3 on a CRT.

The games you are interested in are region-free, such as Espgal II, Futari. Akai Katana, DDP and Deathsmiles have been released in the West.

I had been on the fence regarding a Jap X360 for quite a while, but decided against it after Ketsui was announced for PS3. I just found it unjustifiable to get an extra console just to play Mushi HD, the botched port of DDP DOJ, DDP DFK BL, and Death Smiles II (which you can get via Xbox Live in the US).

For the love of God, the DOJ port is not botched.

There's lots of other reasons to get a Jap 360 other than Cave only shooters. Caladrius, Radirgy Noa Massive, Shooting Love 200x, and Raiden IV and Aces if you live in Europe. just to name a few...

DOJ port is not good. but DFK Black Label? :?:

You can get DFK BL as DLC for the regular DDP DFK in the West. Raiden IV and Aces seem to be difficult to find nowadays, and so is Radirgy Nova Massive.
