Dumb SNES questions.......
Can anyone on this forum give me vegas odds on my chances to find these games:
Metal Marines
Axelay
Super Castlevania IV
R-Type: The Third Lightening
the other Castlevania game for the SNES.
Sorry to ask.

Axelay and R-Type III, in my experience, aren't too hard to find, though they may be a bit more expensive than some of the less-known shooters on the system (EDF or something like that). I haven't looked around for Castlevania IV, but I honestly doubt it's too tough to locate either; Dracula X, however, goes for 50 bucks and up (again, in my experience) on eBay, so if you want that one, expect to pay more. Metal Marines I have no honest idea about.

I haven't seen Metal Marines and R-Type III in used shops; I have seen the others.dtdg wrote:Can anyone on this forum give me vegas odds on my chances to find these games:

I've never looked for Smash TV or Metal Marines, so I can't say much there.
Axelay and Super CV4 are pretty common, I think I see about six copies of the former every time I hit the local gameshops. Phalanx isn't too rare either, but isn't as prevalent as Axelay and Super CV4. I've seen R-Type III in-store before, but not for at least two years (it's always when you're looking for something that you can't find it!).
Dracula X is very difficult to find in the midwest. I haven't seen it used in an actual shop in several years of looking. But all these can be bought easily on ebay; just don't expect to pay a fair price.

I got a used R-Type III for $12 from a local Game Crazy only a couple of months back. They're pretty good about finding stuff in their chain and having it shipped... just don't expect the cart to be in pristine condition.superhitachi4 wrote:Axelay's pretty cheap, and somewhat common. I see it frequently in game shops. R-Type III (amazing game) I haven't seen in shops for quite a while. Expect to pay a bit for R-Type III either on the internet, or in a shop. Well worth it though.

All the GameFAQs reviews of it (about a half dozen of them) are 7s and 8s; haven't played it myself though. Apparently there's a PC game of the same name, not sure if it's the same as the SNES ver...on eBay right now there are 2 copies of MM up for bid: a cart-only starting at 10 bucks, and a sealed one for 100.

Super Turrican and Mega Turrican. If you can find it, you can get a Super Turrican in a Gamestop for like $4.99. Mega Turrican is a little tougher.
Both games you probably won't find in a physical store anymore but shouldn't cost you that much if you just want the cartridge.
Super Turrican 2 on the other hand...

I found Mega Turrican at a Gamestop (back when they still sold Genesis games) for 2.99. I saw one at Ebgames a few months ago for just as cheap, but it's not up there any more.Neo Rasa wrote:Super Turrican and Mega Turrican.
