Lumagen Vision Processors

Post by Lord of Pirates »

Aside from the number of inputs, are there any differences? I was also wondering about audio, since there aren't any inputs on the HDP, Pro HDP, or the HDQ?

I owned the HDP Pro, HDQ, Radiance XD and Radiance XE.

- The earliest units have an output limitation of 1366x768p, so watch out.
- The scaling engine has been slightly tweaked between models.
- HDQ has problems with genlock for videogames.
- HDQ has four RGBHV inputs, but they're not RGsB compatible, while the other units can be configured for RGsB as well.
- All Radiance units except the new 20xx series eat up details. Their initial A/D filtering is too aggressive.

All the Lumagen units with DVI inputs and/or outputs don't process audio. On nearly every TV at least one HDMI input accepts external audio sources though.

Is there any way to tell the early models from the later ones or is it something I'd just need to ask the seller about? Thanks for all the info.

That just applies to the "Vision"-only models, if you go for a HDP or HDQ, this doesn't concern you.
