So I'm about to order the connectors I need to make some RGB cables for my Genesis 2 and Saturn.
I've already RGB modded my SNES Jr., and I had to add the 75ohm resistor + 220uf cap combo to most of the lines. That was inside the SNES Jr. though, so the DIY cable I made had no added caps/resistors, just simply the proprietary nintendo connector on one end and VGA on the other, which I then I connect to my Sony PVM using a VGA to BNC cable. When I used this on my orignal, unmodded SNES (which already outputs RGB on the multi-out), the picture was crazy bright.
Is this because the OG SNES RGB output expects some sort of SCART cable with built in caps and resistors? Will the Genesis and Saturn be the same way, and require me to add resistors and caps somewhere?
By the way, I'm going to make my sega cables similar to my SNES cable: av-multi-out > VGA. I'm trying to avoid using Japanese or Euro SCART stuff.

Read through the corresponding pages to find the answers to your questions. Each page does a good job of explaining all you need to know.

Re: Need resistors/caps for Genesis 2 and Saturn DIY RGB cab
The second link had the info I needed. In summary: Genesis need them, Saturn didn't.
It's strange that there wasn't a standard way to approach RGB, with resistors and caps in cable vs in console.
By the way guys, ATI 9800 all-in-wonder cables use a 10-pin connection, but you have to modify the barrel to get it in the Saturn. So it works if you have one laying around, but it would probably be easier to hack an RF adapter.

What about using the c-sync line? Does anyone recall what that line requires as a sync source? Thanks.
