I can relate to how awkward an NES cart looks perched on top of my Ttitler via a converter.

For that reason I've been trying to buy famicom versions of games lately, but that is not always so easy or affordable.

Which AV mod have you tried? Most of the AV mods posted online still show jailbars to some extend. Only the NESDEV forums solution is clean and identical to front loader.

Well, I got this console yesterday, and it's awesome! So far, I have Super Xevious (which ROCKS!) and Devil World, which is really fun as well! I'm waiting for my Famicom-to-NES adapter to arrive. :D

I haven't done as many as Apolloboy (I only mod for myself) but I'm pretty sure the one I did was the NESDEV mod, and the video is fantastic. I also have a regular Famicom that I AV modded, and I redid it several times to get rid of the jailbars. I even used the exact same components as the NES top loader, and it looked like crap on the Famicom. With some help from the gurus at Famicom World I did eventually get it sorted out, a lot of the problem in that machine is interference from the PPU. The NES top loader doesn't have that problem since I placed the video circuit on the other side of the thick ass RF shield.

The only thing that would make AV mod perfect is a way to eliminate the ant crawl artifacts on all composite signal. Svideo and better doesn't have it. Is there an ic one can add post amp to remove it? (Comb filter)

good comb filters make a difference, but it's not worth the effort and it doesn't come cheap.
