Framemeister Euro Scart Cable with power supply

Post by EmperorZelos »

Okey, this guy talks about a scart cable with its powersupply coming from the power to the framemeister for the sync stripper to work within.

Is anything like that available still? Where? I got one that takes from scart pin 8 but the problem is the moment I put it into any of my scart switches it shows no picture, I assume it is because the pin 8 loses about 0,1-0,2V in it for some reason, I know because I have been measuring it. so it is just underneath the 5V neccisery.

Any suggestions, ideas where or whatnot?

There is no need for extra sync processing on the Mini. In my eyes it usually causes more problems than it helps.

Do you have any systems in particular which you think require a sync cleaner ?

the problem is that I have my stuff connected to a scart switch and after that there is no picture. When the consoles are hooked directly to the framemeister they work perfectly, I notice a slight drop in voltage in the 8th pin on the scart (which my cable uses as power to do the sync stuff) and contacting them they think that is the cause of lack of picture. So i think that is the cause of my lack of picture when ti goes through the switch.

yeah, I got that. But to say it again: the sync processing won't help you, so instead of adding a power source, you can simply bypass the LM1881.

I must admit I never experienced sync processing adding any woes..... Other than its not needed with the later FW.

Instead of me answering your YT comment, here is another company that sells them: http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/

So skip the sync cable and go for one without it?

I'd say so, but don't buy a new one. Just bypass the LM1881 IC in yours. Even if you can't solder, you can at least take the input and output cable from the chip and drill or clamp them together.
