That was a great episode! Darius is definitely one of my favorite series and it was great to see such a good run using a less common route.

Looking forward to watching it. I don't know many Darius players as skilled as Smraedis, so good choice of guest-host there!

Episode is up. Only a few minor hiccups in the call this time. Otherwise, I'm pleased. Enjoy and learn a thing or two about G-Darius and... try it out!

Awesome. What kind of replay will this episode be? A 1CC? A score run?

"The fuck am i watching??" covers my opinion of this (for me) undecipherable game. I can´t make any sense of it.

Looking forward for the episode, let´s hope it makes me understand it some more.

Same here, I've never played the game because I don't know what I'm really doing while I'm playing so I am defiantly looking for some detailed commentary; I will be in the chat!

Btw, the music in this game is top notch

the road to answers only ends in more questions

and the search for understanding only finds perfect confusion

(though the game part of the game isn't too hard to understand, and hopefully shouldn't be too hard to explain)

WR runs, we decided to cover multiple characters, so minogame for the main run, kagura moon cradel for ex1, and fossilmaiden for ex2.

THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC.

Oh my mistake, I read that as 1 full run for each character.

@mauve: informative discussion on the chat is cool IMO and certainly beats spam. Cool to see your view of things from the translation project.

The desync/resync skips on Eternal Calendar and Shrine made me sad. :(

I heard mention of laser grazing a few times, but I don't think anyone straight-up mentioned the boatload of spirit you get from grazing red lasers specifically.

Still a great show, though. The character variety was definitely a good decision, and the chat bits from mauve was a nice little treat.

This is a great episode. I've read the strategy thread and kind of tried to get my head around it, but talking through it as it plays makes things easier to understand.

Still, I don't know how far I want to go - it's a lot of fun earning your way to the next "holy shit" moment.

I recommend reading the manual included in the translation patch instead of the old strategy thread, it has almost all the same information in a nice package as intended by the developer (- spoilers/secrets, scoring system details)

Yeah that's true. They also appear in clusters/aimed more often than the blue ones. In terms of routing you pretty much just always graze the lasers regardless of colour which is why I forgot it I guess.

Another thing that wasn't mentioned is that the stronger your aura is the more points you get from grazing (which is why the minogame player does the melee attack while grazing)

Hey folks, KevinDDR here. Thanks to the STGWeekly crew for giving me a chance to put my 500/500 internet to the test. I apologize profusely for the desync issues. Lesson learned, don't use VLC! I know it's not any consolation for those who watched live, but I have the entire raw footage on my PC and will put together a "fixed" version with no desyncs at some point in the next week or so when I get enough free time. Everyone involved did a great job with insightful commentary which will surely help many understand this insane game. Hope to see you all again soon!
