Amiga CD32 questions
Uh, no. With the possible exception of some Philips hi-end sets, I haven't come across a TV that will take PAL signals without choking on it. You euro fellows are lucky in that regard; I have seen some of your VCRs being able to handle NTSC tapes, and similar options on TVs (Because Laserdiscs with the audio pitched wrongly suck, too). Provided they don't pull a region lock like they did with DVDs, HDTV should break those barriers. Hmm.. SECAM...ST Dragon wrote:
I would imagine that most US NTSC TVs, even without RGB, will be multi system like the European TVs, so I doubt that he will have any problems playing a Euro PAL CD-32 on his US TV set.

Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

I used to think Shadow Fighter was the best fighiting game on Amiga, up until I played Fightin' Spirit.Danny wrote:Not really Shump related but you should try these...

It's a shame this game came so late, because someone FINALLY made a proper fighting game on Amiga. Shadow Fighter is pretty good, but its gameplay is flawed in some aspects (Toshio is a lot better than any other character, and you can end some fights with just THREE blows, which is really annoying). The AGA version of Fightin' Spirit look a lot like some early Neo-Geo games (Indeed, I read someone that the programmers took a lot of inspiration from the Fatal Fury games), it plays superbly (And it has support for 4 button joysticks), and it has a rocking soundtrack (The intro sequence also is awesome!).

And if you like Super Skidmarks and Roadkill, you should try ATR (All Terrain Race). For me its the best overhead racing game on Amiga (A genre that got some excellent titles on Amiga)

The only TV's in the US that accept PAL signals can be found on sites like
www.dvdregionfree.com
www.220electronics.com
www.zonefreedvd.com
Stuff like that..
You cannot buy a TV in a store here that accepts PAL.
So a PAL CD32 is more than likely a very very bad idea unless you want to purchase a rather expensive TV from one of those websites.
Also, if the PAL CD32 is outputting through AV/Svideo, NTSC will likely come out in Black and white anyway. Its only if the system has a dual switching demodulator that it will come out in color.
So your going to need PAL system, PAL compatible TV..

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Or if you want a cheaper alternative try the pro edition of Amiga Forever which is a fully legal (but commerical) amiga and amiga cd32 emu which can even run CD32 directly from the CDrom drive and once more it works perfectly!

I 1st tried Fightin Spirit on WinUAE back in 2000. I was impressed by the large number of colours & cool graphics which resemble the Fatal Fury series on the NEOGEO. (Even though emulation wasn't that perfect back then)Shatterhand wrote:I used to think Shadow Fighter was the best fighiting game on Amiga, up until I played Fightin' Spirit.Danny wrote:Not really Shump related but you should try these...

But I liked Shadow Fighter AGA a lot better on my A1200 back in 1995.
I thought it felt a lot more like SF or Fatal Fury & was eons ahead of Body Blows.
The music Rocked, especially the basketball Arena Theme.
I could 1'cc it on hard more with the Spanish Dude.
