Hi all,
I've got a screen issue with my "new" TV, never seen this before.
I say "new" because I had a "Panasonic" CRT tube TV for playing with my Supergun, scart connected, and I replaced it toward an "Unknown Mark" CRT flat tube TV, also scart connected .
With the old one, everything was always perfect, color, brightness, contrast, synchronization, etc...
With the new one, everything is better, flat screen really bringing finesse to all.
But, with all of my PCB's from 90's generation, when I push any button, background colors become progressively darker.
The clear green becomes dark green, the same with all background colors, never seen this !
So, when I let the ship like that, without playing, all is OK but when I blast, smart or anything else/push any button, all background colors sink in darkness.
It doesn't concern sprites colors which stays normal.
All becomes again normal when I stop to push button.
Very disturbing.
The strangest is that it does it with a Mazinger Z, a Rezon, or a 19XX... But not with a Ketsui or a Galuda, it means newer PCB's.
I understand nothing.
Maybe that's because of the TV which has a sync. issue with the scart or something like that... But why is it like that with some boards only ?
Note I use absolutely the same equipment as for the first TV.
I'd like well to know if this context is already happened to anyone.
Thank you.
[Issue] Strange Dark Background Color
Re: [Issue] Strange Dark Background Color
Probably ground related - aside from that it's definitely a strange one.

Re: [Issue] Strange Dark Background Color
Yes, very strange...
This is more visible / shocking from one game to another.
If I take a game like Donpachi, where colors are very bright, when I stay pushing on A button to get the front laser, I can well see the background colors which become increasingly dark.
It really stops to a dark green for the grass of the cliff at the 1rst LVL, same about the brown/grey of the cliff.
Everything again becomes normal when I leave the button.
So, when I play, I do things quick, it looks like it flashes more or less.
I understand me... Do you ?
