I don't know if it's just my luck, or I've been playing way too much of U.S. version that brought me to this (when I played the JP version):

I've started playing with it on. I'm just experimenting with various video settings to make the graphics more crisper or true to arcade video quality. So far, it's not that bad and looks nice that way.

Edit: What does everyone think of me splitting the score table into two different pilots table? One table would be dedicated for players who use Ring, and the others would be dedicated for players who use Bolt. I was thinking that it would provide a little more challenge for players who uses Ring or Bolt exclusively, and would like to try their hand on a different pilot.

Eh, I think that would be unnecessary. There are certainly differences between the ship types, but not so much that one is universally preferred over the other.

Besides, no one (except maybe Sik with his mame score) has come even remotely close to what would be considered a skilled score in this game (no offense to anyone here of course...but Progear is a beast that demands a perfect run, like most Cave games).

You're right. It would be completely unnecessary.

Another thought I just had when reading your response, was that I could wipe the score table clean and have everyone start all over again.

Archer has a 2-ALL INP over at Mog Rep. His final score is around 77 mil IIRC.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but no, I think leaving it how it is would be best. If you want more competition, I don't know what to tell you except shoot for beating Sikraiken's score and after that go after YMN or something. Even someone with 100+ mil still has a ways to go in squeezing the game's scoring system dry.

Progear may be leaving me soon, so the best I can offer is my top score today, a whopping 45% of your high:

NTSC-J - 17,417,680 - 2-2 - Bolt/Nail (JPN settings)

I will never understand how to play this game:(

I was fucking around by testing out which pilot and gunner would suit me better in order to improve my scores and jeweling, and this is what I ended up with. I'm very, very pleased with this.
