Shmups DDR songs

Post by Kewing Darksun »

So, as I'm sure there are also a few Bemani fans over here, I was wondering if anyone had shmup related DDR simfiles or has ever created one of his own =).
I also thought you people might interested in this one http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=17377 (you have to register over there, but really it's no big deal, besides, there's quite a few gems over there).
It's a simfile of ESPGALUDA's first stage music. I think it turned kind of nice. It's my first shmup related simfile (and most probably won't be the last one ;) ). Check it out if you feel like it, please. I'd really like to know what you think of it =)

Yeah I knew of those two, but maybe what I was refering to more was fanmade ones, like thunderforce or DOJ simfiles for example =). There's tons of songs from shmups that would make for great simfiles :)

To me, DDR/Stepmania isn't as fun as it used to be, but if someone actually made IIDX simfiles for it, you'll bet your whole life I'll be whoring it as hell :D

What game is Gradiusic Cyber supposed to be from? I don't recognize it from Gradius.

I doesn't exactly relate to the gradius music, despite the fact that it has random sounds of Vic Viper shooting like mad.

I'm not really into IIDX. I think I've played BM98 a couple of times, but I never really got interested in it (maybe IIDX is way too difficult nowadays and I prefer a smaller challenge... I don't really know :? ).
I still find DDR quite fun, even if the DDR community has turned (not completely tho) into a IIDX wannabe. You don't believe me? go take a look at the simfiles over at bemanistyle and flashflashrevolution. There's quite a lot less people who make pad simfiles than the ones who make keyboard ones. Too bad. Seems like the original essence of DDR is almost gone =(

And it's not just IIDX alone that's causing it, it's also because of In The Groo...no wait, yeah, IIDX.

Although this might come off as shameless advertising, a few friends of mine make paddable simfiles, as well as run a small community of DDR players/Eurobeat addicts/what have you. Their site is here: Bahamut Forever. (dunno if you have to register to download simfiles yet, we've had a problem with leeching in the past).

SFKhoa - That's part of the reason I make paddable simfiles, and because I actually like to play with my feet. =)

Skyline - Oh, that sounds nice =). I already registered. Yes, it seems lika you actually have to register to download simfiles, but it's always good to have another host =). Will be checking out some simfiles shortly and probably submitting a few of mine, as well.

If you listen at the beginning of gradiusic cyber, there's something that they also play in the intro of the gradius III/IV pack. I know its from an early gradius, but I donno which one. Its something like "Harr yoo, woah. Eee-no, EMPIRE dansee world"

I know what you mean about the ddr community all turning to IIDX though. I never played or got into any kind of beatmania. It seems like 9 out of 10 of my DDR friends graduated to IIDX, the other 10th got into shmups :) .

Have any of you played ITG? Despite all the hate its been a target of, its a great game for those of us who are bored with all the hard stuff on Extreme. After you finish legend road, extreme gets reeeeeally boring, and you start to be willing to drive 2 hours every month or so to play some 12-13 footers. Delirium expert rocks my socks off

Yeah, I get kind of annoyed too. Like I downloaded this one video that was described along the lines of ZOMG expert DDR player pwning ass difficult song. And it turned out the guy was just playing Stepmania with his fingers. I can tell the song was hard, but it was hardly as impressive as doing it with feet, and the simfile did not look like it was written with feet in mind in the first place.
