Been in the cab since it arrived. I owned the game before a few years back when it was far cheaper, but sold it due to pooling money for a car if I recall.

The reco seems to be a wonderful little device: you not inly get customizable autofire for each button, the best thing is that you can easily swap your button configuration. You can even assign the same button-function (e.g. Shot) to several different buttons, and if I read correctly, you can even assign different autofire-speeds.

I just HAD to order one after I learned of its existence and what the reco actually does.

Choky! Chocky! Korean game like battle Pang, with a fairy, and drugs. Very happy to get this one.




Guardian Storm. Undumped (until an hour ago) German version - vertical aspect like the Korean revision. Was sold as having a graphics fault which turned out to very likely just be 'how these are' issue that most monitors won't even draw. Did have a sound fault though, knackered op-amp.




Vasara. Came with original artwork and manual, so now I have both games with all 3 kit parts.




Sunset Riders. One of the 2p revisions, haven't bothered to check which.

Finally fired up that South Korean labelled Gunbird 2 PCB today and found out that it's an International Version variant PCB. It's easy to revert back to it's original JPN region if it needed be. But alas, it's nice to be able to read the witty banter that takes place in between stages and with all the usual wacky Psikyo flavor in English. Just gotta head on down to the local McHenry Bowling alley to snap up some pics of the rare Gunbird 2 all-English instruction strip of the GB2 Jamma PCB set up inside a generic Dynamo cab for my own arcade paperworks collection. It's cool to see a lone GB2 cab set up on a street location earning money.

First PCB purchase in a while. Lode Runner: The Dig Fight, made by Psikyo no less. Also came with a huge bunch of official strips and flyers and manuals, so a good haul.

The game can be set completely to English in the maintenance menu AND you can create your own stages there as well. How cool is that? Pretty unique for an arcade game...

I've got an original Psikyo Lode Runner: The Dig Fight promo poster if you want it to accompany your LR PCB set -- the overall condition isn't too shabby but it's not super mint and has been shown around in the game centers/arcades, hence it's used condition for it's age. There's nothing like a complete Psikyo PCB set with a matching promo poster to add the final piece of the puzzle for completeness. Got this particular Psikyo LR poster as an unexpected bonus when I won an auction for an original Psikyo Strikers 1945 III promo poster many moons ago. It's still rolled up in it's shipping tube for posterity/safekeeping.

I may have bought some more PCBs...

Air Gallet - not sure if I'm keeping it or not, found it at a good price but maybe I'll try to use it as trade to flush a Gunnail out. Something fun to play in the meantime and it's in nice shape.




Bouncing Balls - bootleg quality PCB (although it's original) puzzle game, contains a mixture of poorly digitised black and white women every few rounds you beat, and loads of stolen Warner Bros art. Not sure if they actually stole the sprites/etc or merely stuck with trademark infringement. Quite fragile, arrived broken and I had to fix it last night.




Legendary Wings - I've wanted an original one for a while and this one came in stunning condition, really really nice.




It also came with manuals, marquee (not pictured) and a never applied matching serial license seal




R-Shark - PCB could be cleaner but it's working. Found a strange hack to the audio section on the back, removed hack and it sounds better. Some people shouldn't be allowed to buy soldering irons.




Splatterhouse - yes, there are no mask ROMs like there normally would be. Yes, all the labels are original. The board is very nearly brand new condition, can't even find a photo of one which is EPROM only. Wasn't cheap.




It wasn't cheap because it came with original manuals and instruction cards - got to love the big nearly A4 sized cards Namco made. I've never seen this art available before!




Automat - this is what happens when you bootleg Robocop, and decide that after managing to (sort of) copy the samples across, that instead of normal sound effects and music you're going to steal them all from Section Z. Yes really. In MAME the sample part doesn't work, but it does on the board. It was too weird and cheap not to own.




A couple of instruction cards for games I own.




Gigandes - fun little shooter, thought it was going to be hard to find but it turned out Ghegs had one he wasn't using anymore Shame about the slowdown, does slightly spoil things. Nice music.




Ibara - new kit, board hasn't even been tested.




Gun Dealer - apparently NMK have something to do with this hardware or code, so I had to have it. The Dooyong version is really cheap (you could get one for £10), the Tecmo version costs a little more, but still sub-$60 territory. Apparently G-Front have decided it's acceptable to sell games with caps hanging off by one leg (fixed).




Daiku No Gensan - and here it is, this is grail level rarity, first intact one I've ever seen. Prior to this, all I'd seen was a top C board with the right seal on it nearly a decade ago, but it had long been changed into something else with a ROM kit. I had to fight Japanese collectors to get it, the normal ones cost about 4k yen. This cost about 10 times that much. It could have gone to 20x and I'd still have bought it, I NOW OWN A COMPLETE IREM M72 COLLECTION. This is the only one missing a seal, soon to be remedied Turns out the 4k ones use an identical seal....

Its useless if you want to complete a collection . I did buy a cheap one too to rob the seal from.

I think System11 runs some sort of refuge for down and out PCB's where they can be rehabilitated and eventually introduced back into society.

It's kind of nice seeing these broken games and aging hardware being fixed (especially where the faults are caused by a 10p component) instead of being stripped for what little parts they have, or worse, being consigned to life's scrapheap.

Hmm, lets see, system11 started this forum long ago, the definitive shmup community resource on the net, pays for it out of his own pocket every month, and you ask why he collects shmup PCBs? If you can't tell he's completely crazy by now, then you are a lot newer than your post count indicates.

I didn't start the forum, that was Malc and Akira, but I've been looking after it for a very long time now The rest is true.

Warlord: there is no aim, no plan, and no sense to it all. I just buy stuff I want, it doesn't have to be good. One game I'm enjoying a lot at the moment in MAME is Star Fighter, I think I've got a PCB bought but the retailer is being slow. It's a terrible game, perhaps one of the worst ever in its own charming way. Sometimes I decide I don't want them anymore, and I sell them whether they are a shmup or not. Most of my sales though are where I have more than one of something, or where I bought a better condition one to replace.

When Missile Storm finally sells and I have space to put the final board rack up, sure. At the moment there are boxes carefully racked all over the lounge floor as well as 2.5 full racks of them elsewhere in the house.

Lost it multiple times in the first 30 seconds, when I saw the commander's mouth, the big force field around the enemy item carrier (looks like a solid-colored Galaxian-type ship...) and the Viking ship.
