help with understanding playasia billing/shipping

Post by nasty_wolverine »

I am looking to buy a NTSC-J xbox 360 (so i can get DFK 1.5/DFKBL, ketsui, akai katana and rest of the cave catalog on 360)

Just one question, how is the shipping calculated?
(i just want to be careful coz the cost in indian currency is coming up to 2/3rd my wages)

I made a account and tried buying a Jap 360, went till the credit card page, in between i did select a shipping method, now is it on top of the initial price or is it added on? (they should really show how much i am paying on the credit card page as an invoice like ebay...)

may sound like a stupid question but little clarity would be helpful...

The shipping is about 75-100 dollars added to the price. I think they use DHL or somethin' that's insured. Anyway, it's real f****** expensive... and forget it if customs sees it, they'll tack on an extra "inspection fee" 8)

thanks xbl0x180,

the actual price is the same as what i would pay for a 360 here anyway (pal/ntsc), the shipping to india comes up to 1/3rd the actual price on top of it. the games are not that expensive, dont know if theres shipping on top of it... looking to pick one up by july coz cant pay the price with the shipping right now...

How good is play-asia registered economy shipping? apart from the long delivery time is any other inconvenience or dangers to it?

(I didnt want to create a new thread for this)

I used them years ago,as their prices seemed reasonable...but they don't mention customs charges or import duties. It was u p s when I ordered, even the postage wasn't correct! Just be aware.

No shop will mention custom charges and import duties as it's none of their business.
It's dependant of the Country they ship to and it's something that has to be dealt with by the buyer .

Not really worry about import charges (no taxes for importing DVD's for personal use).
What I am more worried about is, will it arrive in one piece? will it arrive at all?
Or should I fork up the extra money and go with FedEx

It solely depends on your local branch of the company used for shippping.
In my experience Play Asia is very trustworthy and flexible.
Just ask and explain your worries to PA and they'll guide you.

Seriously... PA is awesome in helping you.

Never had any issue with the cheapest PA shipping options - always arrives in one piece though it can take a while.

I basically look at it as cost cutting - if the game isn't that essential i'll just have it shipped on the cheapo free option - also FedEX to Japan have been utterly awful and i avoid them as much as i can.

Here's clarity:

I can get you a brand new 4gb slim shipped out via EMS (3-4 day delivery / tracked / insured) for:

$315 USD

Can have it out tomorrow. Let me know if you want it.

I picked up a PAL one recently, cause of the price factor i got from the local electronic shop.
I am actually looking out for disc-based games.
