Those moments when you beat your high-score even though you died on the last boss.

• Double-KO'd the first boss of R-Type. It respawned me back at the checkpoint, but the level-end jingle was playing and I couldn't move. Then I died again and everything was back to normal.
• The first time I beat the second phase of the final boss of Crimzon Clover Simple... then discovered that there was another phase.
• Smashing both my score and survival records for Twin Cobra II, Bakraid, and Raiden Fighters Jet in the span of 24 hours. (Having not gotten past the third or fourth stage of either, I reached the final stage of TCII and Bakraid, and Real Battle 1 in RFJ.)
• Looping Batsugun Special for the first time.
• Perfect Cherry Blossom's fake-out ending.
• Getting a huge-ass invincibility chain in Psyvariar. LEVELUPLEVELUPLEVLEVLEVLEVLLL
• The one time I was able to chain up to the first midboss in DDP. To this day I've been unable to repeat the feat (then again I don't really play DDP for score)
• Getting a MAX CHAIN in Ikaruga (a rare feat for me).

Dimahoo:
1. Defeating the red and blue bombers together on stage 5, then they merge together right as the amazing rival theme kicks in. The timing of the music kicking in right as they merge is beautiful.
2. Getting through the boss rush, destroying the castle at the end, Gigafacer roars at you, the screen explodes and one of the best final boss themes of all time (2 spooky 4 u!) kicks in.
3. WURRRNING, WURRRNING, BE CAREFUL! / HERE COMES...THE STRONG ONE! <-- first time hearing these voice quotes, just Dimahoo's voice acting in general

3. Dodging the final pattern from the 3rd boss of Mushihimesama on Maniac difficulty, for someone of my barely even intermediate skill level it's an awesome pattern that's tough without being silly.

4. Doing a big 30k cancel in Mushi Futariball's God mode for the first time and seeing your score jump like 150million or more in one second

5. Pink Sweets arrange final boss, at the start the ridiculously cheesy arrange music for the final boss fires up and right as he launches a volley of missiles at you he goes "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

6. Also the TLB, when you get lucky and he just spams bombs at you 3 times in a row going what has always sounded to me like "HUMBA! HUMBA! HUMBA!...pause...HUMBA! HUMBA! HUMBA!" He's trying to say "bomber" but god bless his little cotton socks, his english sucks.

I guess I just kinda have a thing for the adrenaline rush at the start of a boss fight, huh...

Probably been said before, but 1CCing your first shmup. You feel like your ready for anything!

I personally didn't feel that great whith my firsts 1CCs, actually I was pretty disapointed... Maybe I'm not being realistic.

For me it would be everytime I've been playing for a few hours, beeing fully warmed up with good music blasting.
Takes me a while to be really hot with shmups, so when I finally achieve this stage and begins to play I feel like I'm on top of the world.
