Weird distortion on top 26 lines with Sync Strike

Post by zaneiken »

As of the last couple of days, I've been having strange issues with my Sync Strike/GBS 8220/SLG 3000 chain. The top 26 or so lines of the screen show up very blurry and appear unstable:

I think I've isolated the problem down to the Sync Strike, as the component input on the GBS is fine. I've tested with various consoles and cables (composite video and C-Sync) and they all have the same problem.
Has anyone come across this before or have any idea what the problem is?

It's quite common with the GBS I've found. You'll need to enable the auto mode (sometimes several times) to ensure a decent sync clamp.

Thanks fagin! I've had these for a couple of years now and have never had this issue before. In the past I've always held the AUTO button for a few seconds and any display issues would be sorted. However I've never had to press it more than once or twice.

Not sure if this is a help as I don't have your setup, but I have used a Strike with an RGB Interface and got the same result as you. The Interface has a DIP switch to switch between ADSP and DDSP. I had to use ADSP mode on the Interface to clear it.
