Half-Life 2: Survivor has been dumped (sort of)

Post by Zeether »

One of my Steam friends just linked to a video of a guy playing the fabled Half-Life 2: Survivor arcade game on his PC via some sort of HD rip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5HlmcOQaKI

He released models and some other content from the game, but there is no executable and the Type-X loader does not work since it's not for X+ which this is on. We are however one step away from having this emulated or turned into a fully fledged Source mod. Amazing!

I doubt it's got even one joystick in the arcades.
Come to think of it, it's really weird that H-L2 doesn't have any arcade-like modes/challenges. I seem to be in minority that didn't think ALL vehicular bits sucked. I did like the boat vs gunship part. Was into Jak II at the time and found it to be the good kind of consolisation. Not as good as majority of Jak II, but welcome variegation.

Pretty sure they show a graphic of a joystick with a trigger in the pre-game sequences.

From what I read in some games mag (back when Survivor was new) and what I saw on YouTube years ago, there was a chair, a mouse and some keypad.

Heh, from the looks of this video the game looks fun. And from searching around youtube, found a video that shows the arcade machine and its a sit down game, sort of like the mech game setups. Joystick on one side and a mouse-like control thing on the other. I've always wanted to try this game out as it looks quite fun.
