Is that the TAS? Or is that a legit clear?

It's a new replay from lionmanggg, who has always been a legit player as far as I know.trap15 wrote:Is that the TAS? Or is that a legit clear?
I want to believe.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
im guessing the rerecording capabilities shortened the "impossibility" of beating Inbachi by months, if not years, and allowing legit players to patternize stuff
speaking of which, how do you re-record?

I don't get it, if he redid sections at a time it's 100% TAS.
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
I think Van_Artic means like, they practiced by TASing it. To properly figure it out. Instead of throwing single 30 minute credits at the game to get annihilated by the first pattern like 10 times in a row.

Hopefully but that would be practicing with save states and not rerecording anything.

Someone should get it on youtube.
Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
How can someone upload their score if they're abusing replays? From what I've seen, if you're watching a replay (to join in and retry the part where you got hit), you're no longer in Score Attack mode, and not given the option to upload the new score/replay. Is there some work-around I'm not seeing here?

Why would you even need to TAS it with replay? There's a practice mode.
But this needs to be Youtubed for those of us that don't have the game.

Just got word that NCSX had gotten in a new shipment of the 360 SDOJ SLE sets earlier this week, so if you're still waiting around for one, jump the gun & order one pronto (despite what's listed on the website page as sold out). They're back in stock alrighty.

Anyone know how to log into Live for Japan? The leaderboard replays over here in the US suck because everyone chooses auto-bomb. I'd like to see some good gameplay without auto-bomb.
Also, this game is tough as nails. So sweet. Reminds me of my first impression of Ketsui in regards to the difficulty and manic gameplay.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
They are no regional leaderboards
Also this is way harder than Ketsui. Ketsui gives your shittons of resources to work with. SDOJ still gives a fair few if you use autobomb-off, but not as much as Ketsui.

top-level play totally isn't really top-level play anymore if there's autobomb right guys

On that note, this has got to be the hardest CAVE 360 game by an absolute mile. People blow their load over how difficult pink sweets is (imo, pink sweets is one of their easier games), how "hardcore" Ketsui is (again, not that difficult in the grand scheme of things.)
Hardest ports.

Regardless if you were half-joking or not, I'm not sure I agree. There are strategic advantages and disadvantages to both styles. Like MMSpork said, it's probably in your favor to use it when learning the game, but to disable it once you are confident in the first handful of stages. I suspect that having 4-6 bombs per life in the last couple stages is key. I'm still most likely going to use autobomb-on until I get a 1CC.trap15 wrote:Autobomb = instant disqualification from being part of the Cool Kids Club.

Ketsui 1-ALL isn't that hard, yes. Pink Sweets on the other hand is INCREDIBLY hard. SDOJ is hard, but I would not ever put it above PS in difficulty.DrTrouserPlank wrote:On that note, this has got to be the hardest CAVE 360 game by an absolute mile. Keep it on topic instead of insulting me because you don't like my opinions. That's what a forum is for incidentally; the exchange of opinions and discussion.
Edit: ahh christ here we go again......
DDP games are fucking hard and that's my opinion.... don't agree then fine.. but don't start another hate campaign against me just because I think they are a lot harder than the masses do. I've played all the cave ports for the 360, and unlike a lot of people here I've paid to play them as well. My opinion is what it is.. the result of experience. You can belittle it and try to marginalise it all you like with buzzwords, but the fact is I've played the games and that's how I'd rank them... don't agree?.. fine.. everyone has an opinion. Evidently mine differs from yours. No need to start the insults.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
Pink Sweets is the hardest Cave game of all time to clear (excluding 2nd loops) if you try doing it without the infinite lives trick. Not 1 person on this forum has cleared it that way. SDOJ is probably second hardest. Or silly Dangun because of the full retard bullet speed. I don't know why you'd have so much trouble with DFK 1.5 Bomb Mode because you get so many bombs it's like having 20 men. I'm pretty sure I 1 day cleared it, the 1-All.DrTrouserPlank wrote:DFK and SDOJ need it to balance the utterly stupid difficulty.Drake wrote:top-level play totally isn't really top-level play anymore if there's autobomb right guys

Okay, I apologize. It REALLY seems like intentionally post the exact opposite of the truth on purpose just to get attention. If that's not the case then I guess I'll just take it for what it is.
On topic, so the patch has no glaring flaws that would keep me from wanting to download it? I haven't been able to touch the game in over a week, but I'd like to dig back in this weekend.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
I'm not gonna make this a pink sweets thread but why is it so hard?
Bullet patterns are pretty sparse vs other cave games, don't cracker and just play the game... no harder than any other cave game. IMO much easier than SDOJ which is just far in the lead with that title there shouldn't even be a discussion.
Who doesn't think guwange is hard? That game is a combination of memory and dodging in the extreme and the patterns are tough unless you have some sort of plan pre-arrival.
*** I'll take this to the grievances thread.. it's more appropriate***

Sound's definitely been rebalanced. I'm still changing the settings myself to make the voices less prominent.
There's some local leaderboard wipe options.
Screen positioning options apparently.
leaderboards seem to have been wiped.
Wish they'd waited another 2-4 weeks to collate more data. For their one and only patch it leaves the game and it's presentation a bit incomplete.

Re: DoDonPachi Saidaioujou coming to Xbox 360 (REGION-FREE!)
It sounds like you've only played the first 3 levels of Pink Sweets or something. Stage 4 is about as hard as a particularly brutal final stage and the stages 5 onward are just completely insane. I don't really know the best way to explain "why" anymore than I could explain why another game is easy. For one thing there is no rank control. It's just postponing the inevitable. By the end of stage 4 it's at rape level no matter what. Maybe you only got there with continues and that many deaths kept the rank low or something, I don't know.
