CAP'N! It's CAP'N!
capt is also acceptable. ^_~
anyway, the other modes in gekioh were interesting for a play, but in the end, i don't regret selling my copy. the best one was the slow mode (if this is the one with the bullet clouds...), press mute = instant fun. then there was that other mode where bullets took about 2 frames to exit the screen, awful, awful, awful.

Heh, I think that's "No Mercy" mode...I'll bet some of the hardcore bunch around here might want to try that, although it makes a mockery of us mere mortals.
There is a very cool user created "horror-gothic" inspired mini shmup among the various PSX import of Dezaemon Plus mini shmup games...although it does have a haunting (if a bit-overly dramatic) BGM score. Best use of large sprites that comprise the overall presentation of the "final" end-stage boss.

I can't believe I didn't come up with Guwange! Nice one, Ord!
I just remembered Raizing's Mahou series. They have some Halloween themed enemies in all of the games and you even go up against Dracula in one level of Kingdom Grandprix.
