I'm currently eyeing a new 23" monitor for gaming, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding a suitable pivot stand. The ones I can find all seem to rotate right, but most shooters tend to rotate left. The only ones I can find that rotate both ways seem to be wall mounts.
Anybody know of a pivot stand that will turn both left and right?
VESA pivot stand +90°/-90° ???
Re: VESA pivot stand +90°/-90° ???
I have a neoflex tabletop stand that can fit a screen up to 24" or 15kg. It only turns clockwise, but I haven't experienced any games that didn't? I think my contra PCB turned default counter clockwise but it had a dispswitch to flip the picture. All 360 region free cave games I own can flip both ways and so can everything in mame.

If the stand rotates in the wrong direction, unscrew the stand, turn by 90°, screw back to the display and - voilà - the screen rotates in the other direction. Works with all 3rd party stands. Some included stock stands require little modding, but in general it works fine.

My BenQ gaming monitor's stock stand rotated the wrong way. I just did what Fudoh said. No modding required. Probably depends on what model you buy.

Good lord, you are a genius!Fudoh wrote:If the stand rotates in the wrong direction, unscrew the stand, turn by 90°, screw back to the display and - voilà - the screen rotates in the other direction.

If only that worked with the stand for my 24" monitor, which unfortunately has two prongs that ensure that it can only be mounted in one of two possible ways. The only way to get the monitor to rotate the desired way is to cut these two prongs off and then rotate the mounting plate as advised, which isn't easy given the steel VESA mounting plate is about 1cm thick.Fudoh wrote:If the stand rotates in the wrong direction, unscrew the stand, turn by 90°, screw back to the display and - voilà - the screen rotates in the other direction. The only way I can get it to rotate so the monitor is left-edge-down is to mount the monitor upside down. ;p
