Differences between PS2 and Game Cube Star Soldier??...
I just got a Cube, and I read on this forum that the Cube port looks "boxed-in"; is it not full screen? And if not, is the PS2 port any better?

Well thanks for that info; I'll be picking up the Cube port then!Dave_K. wrote:I never herd about this boxed thing, as I have it and its full screen. Also the GameCube version supports 480P progressive display (which the PS2 port doesn't).

BTW, what do you mean by 480P progressive display? I don't have an HDTV, or anything.

If you don't have an HDTV then you can't display the game in that mode. Unless of course you play your Cube games using a componet-VGA adaptor of some kind.dave4shmups wrote:Well thanks for that info; I'll be picking up the Cube port then!Dave_K. wrote:I never herd about this boxed thing, as I have it and its full screen. The GC game is the original ,so you really can't refer to it as a port!dave4shmups wrote:Well thanks for that info; I'll be picking up the Cube port then!Dave_K. wrote:I never herd about this boxed thing, as I have it and its full screen. How do you figure that? From the dates I've seen, the PS2 one was released a month earlier.highlandcattle wrote: The GC game is the original
In any case, there isn't any fundamental difference between the two. Get the one for the system (read: controller) you prefer more.

Do't know where you got that nutty info but it was first NGC exclusive series the Hudson Family series.then they realised it didn't sell on the cube so they ported it to the PS2 and then they realised it didn't sell on the PS2 either and then thy stoppped making new retro remakesGhegs wrote:How do you figure that? Hmm. Maybe I'm confusing it with some other release then. Oh well.

So, without any extra equipment, or an HDTV, does it look any better then the PS2 version?Dave_K. wrote:I use the VD-Z3 transcoder to display the progressive signal on a computer monitor.dave4shmups wrote: BTW, what do you mean by 480P progressive display? I don't have an HDTV, or anything.

OK, thanks! Sorry about the double-post, but I got a "timed-out" message when I clicked "submit" on the first one. I keep on getting either that or a mostly-blank page with some dribble on it today; I hope the forums aren't going down again!Dave_K. wrote:I don't have the PS2 version to compare, but I would assume they are the same at 15khz.dave4shmups wrote: So, without any extra equipment, or an HDTV, does it look any better then the PS2 version?
