Back to "Music Production" briefly : Been fiddling around with doing something to dump on OCRemix and for that i've been stuck using Reason 3.0

Anyone any experience with the later versions? I assume worth the upgrade?

I've still got a 505 and Korg but Reason is just a bit easier for dicking around with on the laptop.

they are massively worth the upgrade due to the integration of Record and the emulation of an SSL desk and that master compressor alone

but there are also a good few new instruments since then - especially KONG.

My first official remix is now out on the remix release Ash Cloak. This is a companion to the Coppice Halifax album Leaf Cloak which was released earlier in the year. A long slow moving Drone Techno remix.

I finally dug up an EP of tracks I had made from sampling the sound and solenoid tests from my pinball machine. These are all about ten years old and probably the very first tracks I ever "completed." I was really into sparse glitch techno and abstract DSP type stuff at the time and these kind of reflect my desire to make tracks that were more of a mockery or caricature of the genres than anything.

I've been working on a project since the summer began (late May-ish) of making a soundtrack to a fictional anime OVA, inspired partially by the Genocyber soundtrack. It's a story of manly men and the women who love them, evil military dictatorships, senseless violence, all taking place in an implausible underwater world.
