Halloween Costumes

Post by freddiebamboo »

Now that halloween is here again, what are you folks dressing up as when you got out to shake your thang tomorrow?

I've got my mates 22nd birthday party and I'm all out of ideas. Last year I was Lau from VF - although most people just thought I was some random chinese bloke

Any suggestions for this year's costume (which can be made in a day, for little/no expense) would be well appreciated

Probably just sport my Fatal Fury hat, and be like "Ride the wave!" "Fatal Fury" *hat toss* Terry style. Of course, most people don't know what the hell Fatal Fury is, so that should score some points. :( heh maybe a grim reaper ninja turtle, with flame shot. Maybe you could go as a Dreamcast. That would kick ass.

I was thinking maybe Torgo from Manos "Hands of Fate".

It would be a really simple costume. Just get tramp like clothes from a thrift store and enlarge the knees somehow.

I half-toyed around with the idea of making a set of headphones like one of the beatmania characters whose name I don't know... some dude with a blocky headphone with 4 spikes coming out of the forehead. But I ended up spending the whole weekend reading a book instead.

:) Me too.

Except the left over candy I'll bring to work for everyone else since I'll get myself sick if I leave it around here. (6 bags-o-candy bars and I'll probably get like 2 dozen trick-or-treaters)

Trick or Treaters annoy me...parents, take your kids to a safe Halloween Party instead...don't let them wander around begging door to door for shitty ass candy.

Before I was relocated, I was either going to go as Speed Racer (easy costume) or G1 from Gatchaman (hard - would have to pay someone to make the costume). I thought eitjer would be a great cross cultural halloween costume. Not bad in Hawaii, but just not the same.

I'm a male, and I was gonna go as a girl who was dressed up as a guy. Like, dress up as if i were a girl, and then pretend that that girl was dressing up as a guy for halloween. NO ONE would have known what I was dressing up as. Buuuttttttt I'm too busy/lazy to buy stuff.

A few years ago I went as a lunch lady :D . That kicked so much ass

I remember a few years back a few of my mates went as the village people and performed ymca on the dance floor. One funny guy who was dressed up as the biker actually got a pair of leather trousers, and cut the ass cheeks out of em.

Policeman won the dress competition though.... odd considering it's a club rthe police don't touch.

Another guy I knew won a competition dressed as optimus prime!, big card board boxes painted red and blue, with a giant autobot insignia, he took a day painting it then stapling her together.

I've been trying to rig up a Kagari cosplay, but it's going like crap because I'm prolly trying to be TOO accurate... The shoes are a pain in the ass to find, since they don't make stilettos for ankle boots, and I can't even find black ankle socks to fake it with normal stilettos :?

WHERE ARE ALL THE SOCKS GOING?!?!

Otherwise, all I pretty much lack is a dark paisley curtain ;)

I was dressed up as a businessman this morning...which just so coincidentally doubled as my attire for an interview.

Well, at the Brunswick Zone, we could dress up starting on Saturday, and continuing through today.

So, Saturday I wore my '80s costume! An old sport-coat with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows with an orange Atari shirt underneath, and a bright blue head-band!

It was fun! I wish I had a picture of it. At any rate, the best costumes get prizes. I was supposed to work until 8pm tonight, but we were DEAD today, and had leagues scheduled tonight, so I got off work early.

I generally just skip halloween (although a few years back I wore a suit to work on Halloween, which given the casual environment could be considered a costume.) If I had a couple of other people willing to try it out, going as one of the guys from Ouendan might be fun...
