Super Zaxxon (Coleco ADAM computer).
This "Super" digital data cassette version for the ADAM was similar to the Colecovision cart of normal "Zaxxon" but added extras such as a space 'wall' base, a new mini-boss, and hiscore saving.

It is? I one-lifed the first loop on the PCE port quite easily. Probably could've cleared the second one too, but my Duo actually froze during 2-4. But I suppose the PCE port is a whole lot easier than the arcade one.chtimi wrote:heavy unit is pretty unusual i think.
That said, I don't think I have any unusual 1CCs...Game Boy's Solar Striker on Hard difficulty, maybe? If you count games many people haven't played, then I have Gaia Seed, Override, W-Ring, Nexzr...lot of PCE shmups, basically.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

For me it's probably Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
I've 1cc'd it about 15-20 times in a row ... on 1 quarter. There was a bug in the game where during the ending you could get it to reset you to round 1. I used to sit in the arcade and play it for a few hours before getting bored and walking away. Pretty long lasting 50 cents.

That game was GREAT!BUHA wrote:OOO OOO OOO
Do you guys remember that NES game "Pac-mania?" it was also on the arcade, and it was like pac-man but had an isometric view and you can jump over ghosts.
My most unusual one: I "1CC'ed" dance dance revolution. You have to AA your last song on heavy, AA the Legend of Max extra stage, and then AA the "one more extra stage" sudden death thing. I'm a dweeb

Recent 1CCs: Metal Black, Chaos Field

I've done that on DDRMAX and DDRMAX2, but never beat Max300 heavy or MAXX heavy.Salem Witch Trials! wrote:That game was GREAT!BUHA wrote:OOO OOO OOO

I've done it on doubles too ... and then Max300/X slayed me on double-heavy.
1941. Your life gauge refills after every stage and there are a handful of ways to refill your life throughout the game, so it's not taht big of an accomplishment.
If anything, I've 1CC'ed Star Wars Trilogy Arcade. But D&B Milpitas players score too high for me to stand a chance. And it's gone now so I'll have to mark my initials someplace else.

Waitwaitwait...you can AA Legend of MAX on Extra Stage? You crazy bastard. I can only get a high A on it..with the pad. :/Salem Witch Trials! wrote:That game was GREAT!BUHA wrote:OOO OOO OOO

Needless to say, the most unusual 1CC I've done is Battle Bakraid. Why? Because I never did it again.

Your 1CC of PCB scares me. I was only able to 1CC EoSD, and Remilia went down the moment one of her bullets hit me. Good thing I still had one life remaining after that or that would've really, really sucked. I need to lay off my Touhou spending habits since I just bought all of the "official" Windows games within the span of two months. Sadly, I'm still playing IaMP more.Cthulhu wrote:I own 3 Shanghai Alice games, but I've only 1CCed PCB... yeah, I don't think many people have 'em.
I was also able to 1CC Lotus Land Story on my first try.
I second that. Chaining system is reminiscent of Twinkle Star Sprites. I need to grab myself a copy of Air Rade Air, which, after looking at the character select screen/box artwork reminds me a lot like R-Type Final.Cthulhu wrote:Yay, Air Raid is awesome!
Wouldn't 1CCing DDR be finishing Nonstop mode?Salem Witch Trials! wrote:My most unusual one: I "1CC'ed" dance dance revolution. You have to AA your last song on heavy, AA the Legend of Max extra stage, and then AA the "one more extra stage" sudden death thing. I'm a dweeb

YEESSS!!! I score my first 1cc in my life just a moment ago.
The game is KiKi KaiKai (奇々怪界). Cann't belive it, After defeated the final boss, I was ready to celibate. The now freed gods just pumped out and asked my to look for their bout .
No joking, it's truth.
(Freeing them is not enough, I have to even find their bout?!
With these kind of gods to serve, it is real tough to be a Japanese Temple Priest.
)
And so I have to continue playing... lost most of my reminding lifes looking for the boat, and lucky finally make it with my last life.
Proceed to Loop 2 and got killed before meeting stage 1 boss.
Result:
SAM - 354,250 - SCENE 9
Where is the high score thread?
I am ready for the two Super Famicom version now. But I have to find the cart first... Any offers?

*Meow* I am as serious as a cat could possible be. *Meow*
I play now and usually level three is where it all falls apart for me (the damn worm too, ARG).
All I can say is you gotta get REALLY good with grenades and just don't mess around. Never bother having a weapon other than the rocket launcher, etc.
Grenades on the boss weakpoints do insane damage. Memorize where the boss comes out and get a few grenades in early to save you a lot of trouble.
Also you want to get the powered up grenades ASAP.
I love how this game came out in 1986 and yet just about EVERYTHING is destructable, and the cover actually works for you and enemies the same way where it will block shots, but not if you're right up against it. Incredible sound for the time too, that game was very ahead of its type (typical of Irem/SNK though

Don't worry, soon you can buy Touhou Snap! Admired by pattern lovers everywhere.dai jou bu wrote:Your 1CC of PCB scares me. Kick Ass!! I love doubles!! I've found that MaxX doubles is meaner and harder even than PSMO. I could do PSMO double without the bar but could never do MaxX consistently. A lot of people have a lot easier time with MaxX, but they're crazy.landshark wrote: I've done that on DDRMAX and DDRMAX2, but never beat Max300 heavy or MAXX heavy.

Yah, I got so used to playing LoM on 1.5x reverse that I ended up using those mods just for practicing score on it normally. My best was 25gr FC, but I almost always broke combo before the freeze. I suck at that part.SFKhoa wrote: Waitwaitwait...you can AA Legend of MAX on Extra Stage? You crazy bastard. I can only get a high A on it..with the pad. :/
If you can get a high A on it then you should probably be able to AA it with a bit more practice. Its tough at first to get used to the 1.5x reverse, but it becomes 2nd nature after awhile.
Did you ever used to post on DDR Freak? My name was JSON Road. I may have talked to either of you guys and not even known it.
Nonstop mode is only 4 songs long. If you mean Endless mode, then they only had that on home versions.Minzoku wrote: Wouldn't 1CCing DDR be finishing Nonstop mode?
Any of you guys play anymore?
Ok, just so this post isn't totally off-topic, R-Type Leo is kind of an unusual 1CC. I got that today.

Nonstop, yes. I think I've only seen it played once in the arcade, and the two guys out of the FRAT hogging the machine who were doing it failed, though that was surprising because they were getting As and AAs on Heavy/Oni in normal playSalem Witch Trials! wrote:Nonstop mode is only 4 songs long. We don't really have a convenient arcade nearby, though, which is why I haven't seen it so much.
I had to bail on home practice for a bit because I've been sick
