SNES 1CHIP-03 With Photo

Post by Triaxis »

I found a 001 SNES 1CHIP-03 off of e-bay. It arrived today so i opened it up and took some pictures. Its serial is #UN321368568. So far the picture quality is a lot better then my RGB-01 SNES using S-Video cables. It took a long time to track this one down. My question is will it be able to output RGB or will it need modification? I plan to hook it up to a Sony BVM 20F1U when i can find one. Thanks!

It does output RGB with composite video for sync. This works perfectly fine on your BVM. Other monitors might require a sync modification.

Thanks for your reply Fudoh. I enjoy reading your posts on this forum. If there is any data you or any forum members want about the 1CHIP-03 i will investigate, and report back to you. It seams to be the 1CHIP that is least know about, but i could be wrong.

Thanks again! :D

Great find! I too have a SNES 1CHIP-03, modified by its previous owner for composite sync output instead of composite video output. The output is beautiful and crisp, with absolutely zero bleeding and it also lacks the infamous middle vertical bar that plagues some SNES models. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours! :)

I found a guy with a SONY BVM 20F1U and BVM 20E1U. I'm not sure what model i will go with yet but i will need a SNES to Scart and Scart to BNC cable. Where can i find good quality cables for this?

I can't imagine that you'll find any visual advantage in the E1.

retro-access for the scart cable and the trading station here for the BNC breakout cable.

Thanks again for the swift reply! I was leaning towards the 20F1U because i do not think the difference justifies the cost increase of the 20E1U. Bragging rites maybe :)

I was playing my SNES CHIP1-03 Last night in the dark, and that vertical bar i have come to hate on my RGB-01 is none existent with the 1CHIP-03! Very nice.
