I would agrees with this that whole 2 note downtuned bassy sound im not into one bit to be honest, though I do like some 'groove metal' elements that led to it, like some of Sepultura's riffs you can hear their influence on Korn. But sweet jesus i hate nu-metal. I don't even think it's that I'm averse to the idea of rap and metal being mixed, I loved 'Faith No More and Boo Yaa Tribe - Judgment Night' and of course '[/i]PE and Anthrax - Bring the Noise[/i]' (and of course the 'Angel Of Death' sampling 'She Watch Channel Zero' by PE), and I did like a lot of Faith No More stuff, it'sd just the sh1tty way Korn, Limp Bizkit et al did it.

Then again I must reiterate I'm a grumpy old man .
Metal wise I like the obvious thrash bands (Slayer, first 4 MetallicA albums), and mainly Norwegian Black Metal.
