You know, looking at that picture I could've sworn they were coloured differently in G-Stream too. Hmm. Maybe it's an animation thing.

Just ordered the special edition. The cover does look nice. So about how much does amiami usually charge to ship games with EMS? I tried asking them in an email, but they said they would not know until how much it would be until the item arrives.

I just paid for my Caladrius LE and AmiAmi charged me 1350 JPY for EMS shipping to Canada.

There's been a bunch of posts on Triangle Service's website about DeltaZeal!

But I can't read Japanese so I have no idea what it's about? Help?

http://www.triangleservice.co.jp

EDIT: I think it's all just covering some of the basics of it for those who have no clue about the game. There's a part with the bomb that suggests a temporary invincibility I think but Google Translate fails hard at such intricacies. If there's anything new in there though I'm keen to hear it before Saturday. :P

Well, this is disappointing. I thought that poster would be included in the Special Pack, but the latest blog post confirms that it's only going to be given away to people who attend their event at Sofmap Osaka on the 26th.

Perhaps one of our "field agents" in Japan will be able to make it to said event?

Main things I noticed in that video:
- music is still sped up 5%. I guess that's the way it's going to stay.
- level transition animation is more animated and the G is replaced with the Delta symbol

Interesting to see though! I wonder if there'll be any more videos with other stages?

AmiAmi actually sold out of pre-orders for the regular edition of XIIZEAL and ΔZEAL while they are still taking pre-orders for the regular edition of Saidaioujou. The limited edition of XIIZEAL and ΔZEAL is still up for grabs though.

Oh wow! Play-Asia seems OK (as in they are still taking orders) but I am a little worried now as I was mr Johny come lately on this whole thing! :S

How can you tell? I only see 'Tentative Pre-Order'. Do I have to be on Japanese Mode or something?

Also, for those unaware, Triangle Service's website has a post talking about the G-Stream G2020 board hardware in quite some detail (fair bit for translating I imagine). If Google Translate serves me well there's some kind of interview thing on the Special Pack somewhere that also has a discussion on it, but I'm not certain of this.

They also seem to have stopped posting about DeltaZeal and started posting about XIIZeal instead. Maybe XIIZeal's the one getting lonely now? http://www.triangleservice.co.jp/

Both regular and limited are gone now. I doubt they'll be increase their pre-order this close before release.

That's really awesome to hear, HydrogLox. Sounds like Triangle Service is getting the love that they so very deserve.

Oh, it's actually selling out this soon? Didn't expect that after how slow Shooting Love 200X sold. Or maybe AmiAmi just didn't order very many copies precisely because Shooting Love 200X sold so slowly...
Anyway, preordered.

I doubt very much that they ordered the same kind of quantity compared to "any" Cave title. So unless there was a sudden spike in sales due to any of the recent (official or unofficial) promotions, I don't think that they will be ordering any more as they don't want to have any stock hanging around. It is still available through NCSX and play-asia (ludicrous LE price though).

As this is an all region release anybody in the PAL region without a J360 (or RGH360 ) who is pining for Gun Dogs, erm Raiden Fighters Aces should be paying attention to this one as ΔZEAL seems to have the same vibe (at least that is my impression). There is also the fact that numerous elements of G-Stream G2020 made it into TRIZEΔL, EXZEΔL, and Shmups Skill Test and Fujino has used all that experience to refine G-Stream G2020 into ΔZEAL.

I also feel that "the market" has been undeservedly unkind to XIIStag (~$15 for used PS2 copy).

In the past there have been NIH products related to Triangle Service releases:
So I wonder if NIH has anything planned for this one. While the LE has a CD I doubt that it has a full complement of OST tracks, especially as it also contains "live footage" and "documents". So there is room for an NIH OST and possibly even an Insanity DVD for G-Stream G2020/ΔZEAL ("Nice DVD 3"; similar to the "Nice DVD 2" for EXZEΔL).

now now, just because we're all used to paying $90 for a shmup* doesn't mean they all should cost $90.

*or rather, you're all used to it

Yeah I also remember it being released "budget price" here in the UK so it was never going to reach dizzying heights on the aftermarket.

I'm all for "affordable" options - the more the better. And I guess I'm putting too much stock in the selling price as a reflection of the game's quality - after all the Japanese version of Einhänder is still affordable while the North American version's price can be a bit ridiculous. But I don't recall XIIStag ever being portrayed as a "bargain" but more frequently as an average to bland (rather than straight-forward) below-average STG. Fujino seems to believe in it otherwise why put in the effort to realize it on the Windows Mobile and Xbox 360 platform (and put the XIIStag ship into Trizeal and Exzeal)? In general XIIzeal wouldn't seem to add too much to the appeal of the overall package - I hope I am wrong ...

XIIZeal/XIIStag is actually an allright game, but guys like nZero/victolap tend to give it a fair bit of shit because of the arcade version's wobble shot which is known for wearing out joysticks considerably more than the average shmup. It's simpler in concept than G-Stream G2020 but it shares a lot of it's design ideas, for instance the stage-content-altering mechanics.

I doubt one will be put in but I'd like to see configurable autofire options for this bundle. It really is key for scoring, particularly in XII Stag.

It's been confirmed that XIIZEAL will have an autofire button for the wobble shot, eliminating the need to bust up your joystick. I don't think it's variable speed, though.

Yeah, variable speed was what I meant. I was quite quick to notice the autofire options, particularly for the wobble shot. Setting the autofire rate for the standard shot would be nice though.

Yeah I bought XIIStag for $5 brand new when it was first released in Australia...It was a shock considering I spent over $80 for other games

So when do we know if this is truly region free?

I've never seen XII Stag on sale at shops. Then again, didn't have a PS2. Mine came from a guy in Victoria via eBay.

And it's been confirmed region-free twice by developers. Or if you meant release date, that's the end of May.

I was told directly by Triangle Service that the game is region free, as were others. If they were going to lie about it I don't think they'd do it straight to a customer like that.

I give everything shit that isn't in my top 25 (and many things that are anyway) but XII Stag is just particularly hilarious in the design department ;) I love that Fujino manages to include the ship/mechanic in every subsequent production, it wouldn't surprise me if PengoZeal had some implementation of wiggling and backfire.

For whatever reason I'm a little more excited about this than DDP SDOJ. Never tried any of these games. Graphics look so awesome. Soundtrack seems a bit uneven though.

This got reviewed in Famitsu as well this week. 7,6,6,6. Not the best review but wtf do Famitsu know? Nothing! I didn't have time to read to review before I left work but I'm sure they didn't get it
