Huh? How come? He seems like a good guy to me...

Sorry if it's a bit off-topic. I'm not looking for an argument, I'd just like to hear your opinion.

I've long suspected the sealed game mania of recent times is down to the buyers and sellers being talking dogs who lack the necessary appendages to open their games safely.

That's ¥1,000 -- which is like $10.

However, I see it's now up to ¥74,000, which is over $700, which is indeed a lot of money for paper.

Holy carp. It's been a while since I imported anything. Last I imported it was about 73yen to the dollar, which is why I thought $1k

I remember the good ol' days when it was more like 150 to the dollar...I see it's headed back down then. Good for importers.

Do want, but that price is ridiculous. He must think it's 2009 all over again.

What's interesting about this auction is the minimum reserved price was never reached/met. Plus the fact it's in the city of Ceres, CA, makes it a hop & a skip to pick it up locally as it only a 20 minute drive to get there from where I live. Still makes me wonder what mininum reserve price was, perhaps $17,500 - $20,000? With that kind of moolah/dinero, one could afford to buy three new Stern pins with some spare change leftover easily (assuming if each pin is bought at $6,000 each).

And after looking at some of the various bidders that bid in this peculiar auction, it seems some could very well be shill bidders trying to spike up the bidding...hmmmm. Not to mention some bidders had "0" rating to begin with -- and plently of $$$$$ to burn.

In retrospect, it's true that Sega of America was based out of San Francisco, CA back in the late 80's and into the 1990s. So to have one of two prototype Sega Pluto consoles about an hour & 45 minutes away from the former SOA's R&D branch makes sense even if it's under "lock & key" in the city of Ceres, CA nowadays. It's fascinating to know that one is around locally nevertheless. Is just a glorified SS console with Netlink built-in & nothing more.

Apparently no one could afford the Sega Pluto, but someone did buy the domain for $499. Seems like a worthwhile investment.

Hmmm, I dunno. The Media VHS Halloween is quite notorious for fetching high prices, though.
