I've always been a rail or aviation, or both, fan, so this series has gotten my attention. I wanted to be a pilot when I was younger, and there is a "Jet de Go!" Japan Airlines game coming out for the PSP. There's also a Densha de Go Japan Rail game out for the PSP now.
How are the quality of the PS2 Densha and Jet de Go! series? I've even seen a train conductor-controller for sale for a PS2 Densha de Go! game!

The first Jet de Go! on PS1 and JDG2 on PS2 are pretty good. JDG also has a flight yoke controller available on the console versions. JDG2 is somewhat more complex so starting with the original PS1 title may be a good idea.
Densha de Go! is nice as well. Besides obeying speed limits and sounding the train's horn when needed, you need to get the train to its destination on time and stop as close to the right spot as possible.

Great, thanks for that info! NCSX sells the train controller for Densha de Go! on PS2. I have not yet seen any reviews of the PSP Densha de Go!, though.

This kind of game would only be fun when playing with a special controller. Playing "Densha de Go!" on PSP is like playing Taiko games without the drum or playing DDR with the mat. I really don't think anyone should buy the PSP version.
IMO, you should get the PS2 version with a special controller.
