Why doesn't AKS let you input your initials for high scores?
Why doesn't AKS let you input your initials for high scores?
Does anyone know why in Akai Katana Shin, even if you get a new high score, the game never lets you use your own initials, and instead only uses the generic CAV for everything?

You just can't for some dumb reason. Same for Muchi Muchi Pork, Pink Sweets, Guwange, and possibly a few other games I'm not remembering.

Play Score Attack, upload to the online leaderboards.
Problem solved.

Because the online leaderboard already uses your Xbox live account name.Quantium wrote:Does anyone know why in Akai Katana Shin, even if you get a new high score, the game never lets you use your own initials, and instead only uses the generic CAV for everything?
I don't even think when you record runs in a game that allows initials entry it records that part like in Futari, pretty sure recording ends just after the final stage tally, so the only person who'd see the initials entry is you. Bit silly though as entering one's initials is a very nostalgic thing.

Less "nostalgia", more "tradition". "Breaking" it is more pointless than having it.

The worst thing about this is that when playing with other people locally, you basically have to write down who got which score. (Hard to believe, I know, but some of us do occasionally interact directly with real people).
So yes, it's idiotic and whoever came up with this deserves a kick in the nutsack.

Ok, but it's still fun like in DDPDFK or MSFBL to actually put your initials in there, and see them on the score scroll before starting. Yea, reminds of the ol' days of Galaga and Pac-man.BareknuckleRoo wrote:Because the online leaderboard already uses your Xbox live account name.Quantium wrote:Does anyone know why in Akai Katana Shin, even if you get a new high score, the game never lets you use your own initials, and instead only uses the generic CAV for everything?
