I have had it since it came out last week. I love it, it is a great game. The story and characters are great, makes you NOT want to let your characters die.
I played the first US GBA (FE7, this one is FE9) and loved it. It is a lot like the GBA ones, but better. The graphics are very good but they can be a tad stiff at times. Don't let that stop you though, the game is great. The music in the game is excellent as well.
I can't stop playing it, really. I am getting DDR: Mario and Gunstar Super Heroes today which may limit my FE time today though.

cheers for the response and impression.
It is basically a turn based chess board style game yeah? with your character moving to attack either by a weapon or magic? Does a short cutscene follow the attack or does it happen real time?
If you answer yes to most of those its a great shining force clone I must own!

Yas it is turn based, you go first, then the enemy. You got the basic attack, magic, heals, item, steel, etc. There are cutscenes when you attack, you can turn them off, speed up movement, etc, its very customizable.
If you loose a character you can't revive. You really have to not be careless if you like you characters, or you will have to reset and start over if you want to keep them. So there is some challenge here.
Heh... as has already been said, called Fire Emblem a Shining Force clone is like calling Mario a Crash Bandicoot clone. Fire Emblem has been around much longer than Shining Force (and is by far the better series, in my opinion).Diabollokus wrote:If you answer yes to most of those its a great shining force clone I must own!

I am looking forward for it's pal release.
I played the first Fire Emblem on GBA only. I think it's better than Shining Force too, gameplay wise.
@Diabollokus:
Well there are only battles, but there is some exploration during your battles. For example you can enter houses and shops during your fight and there are lots of hidden characters which you can get during a mission. For example talk with a specific unit to an enemy or entering a house and other special conditions. Also the missions where very entertaining and challenging on the Fire Emblem I played. You have to change your strategies sometimes because of the circumstances of this mission. In Shining Force I almost managed every mission with the same team and the same tactic.
I'd recommend you to try this game, maybe check the GBA rom... ergh.. game first before buying the cube one.
Besides reseting after one units death can be pretty annoying, at least for me it was. I mean I have almost finished the mission and then in the last turn one enemy attacks the heal mage who dies after one hit offcourse and that's it. >_<
Why don't they give you a chance to rescue them when their HP have reached 0. Or ban your died units for 5 missions, that they recover from their serious wounds or maybe a Ogre Battle like 3 turns to revive your character.
Still a great game though.

The Black DS sounds cool, those games are good too. Don't forget Castlevaina DS, it rocksDiabollokus wrote:Hmmmm
I saw a sexy nintendo ds in black on ebay, + advance wars and fire emblem games, and final fantasies.... could very well pick a ds up even just to play gunstar super heroes.
I'll keep an open mind, Seen gamecubes at £30

I just picked up Gunstar, I like it a lot so far. I only played 2 levels so far because I am too into Fire Emblem ans have problems stopping!
