Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
Noticed that i haven't posted my second candy, yet.
So...
No scratches. No burn in. Pretty decent geometries. 2100 coins signed on the coin counter.
Need to swap, when possible, sticks and buttons.

How did you guys get your hands on one of these things? I eventually would love to have one for vertical shooters (I'd eventually want a Gunbird 2 or DOJ PCB). Any tips? Any existing threads or guides on this? For some reason it seems pretty farfetched but maybe it's not that hard?

Acade Otaku seems to have candy cabs come up more than most places.
Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
I got mine off a nearby member here way back, 2004 I think. Just got lucky timing and location wise.finisherr wrote:How did you guys get your hands on one of these things? Got both of mine on neo-geo forums. First was from a group buy where we had to wait months for the shipment to arrive from japan, was a bit stressful not knowing exactly what kind of working condition the cabs would be in upon arrival but it worked out well for mostly every one. Second was from an individual seller.

I got mine from various forums (including here) and one from Ken at The Game Room. Depending on their location, it's not too expensive to ship one if you have to. I've used these guys a couple of times:finisherr wrote:How did you guys get your hands on one of these things? They do everything, from packaging the machine properly to delivering inside, so it's a good solution if the machine is out of driving distance (or if you don't have a car, like me).

Wow, that Impress is sooooo clean! And under $400, another steal you got there.
After a short stint with attempting some 2 player action, I've gone back to side-by-side tate 1 player goodness.

Who turned out the lights in Blast City? c'mon man, it's picture day.. get some rays shining out of that illumination panel!
But yes, nice presentation on those vertical bad boys.. Especially the 1L cp's.

Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
So for a decent candy cab you're probably looking at $500-$1000? I've looked into getting a standup MVS cab before, but never looked at candies that closely.

Re: Show them if you've got them - Candy cabs
Small update on my egret 29 candy cab
Here's some pictures on the control panel it had before
It was some sort of crome cheap repro
It had some white nasty silicone under the panel
Holding it agains lower bracket panel
Also it had 3 different blue shade colors
So i had to sand it down and repaint it
This is what i got from TAITO tech
2 "nos" control panels.i got an extra one just incase i find another egret 29lol
And this is how is coming out after all.i will replace the button layout
But will do for now
