The new ship seems similar to Type-A except that the range (on laser type?) is wider, purple, "bubbles" in and out and has lasers bend outward toward enemies dependent on which way you are moving.

Now this is manly.
Need some high level play of the 360 mode to determine if it's DEEP enough.
New trailer looks dope.
I wonder if there's an option to mute just the random chat. That shit's seriously balling out of control.

How's the slowdown? I saw like a minute of Hibachi before I had to leave and do stuff where it got quite close, and it looked like what I'd seen of the arcade runs, but I wouldn't really know.
And what's that 'Core Fixed' about?

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
Pics I took today. Marvel at the mediocrity of this poorly-planned event! I'll descriptions later. Busy at the moment, but I thought I'd put these out there ASAP:
Waiting in line:

Entrance to the event:

Posters on display which were not available for you to purchase or win:

Waiting for something - anything - to happen. There was a lot of this going on:

One of two flyers available for the taking:

Demoing SDOJ on X360. See the masses of people waiting to play?:

Dressed like a bee:

Waiting for a superplayer to start:

Sitting down waiting for clover-TAC to rip shit up:

Not exactly a packed house...
:

mouth agape at the line to play X360 SDOJ:

Clover-TAC getting ready to play:

Scrilla4Rella playing to get his SDOJ branded cookie / giant cheeto:

3 available poster for the event, but they're are all gone! In the meantime look at these nice dolls which are also unavailable!

More posters that are unavailable:

Who's that ninja on the right in black? Asada!

Shitty merch booth. SDOJ Branded mice, Kinect units, and some other shit no one had any interest in:

All in all, a poorly planned event. If you couldn't attend, you really didn't miss anything. I cant imagine how much money they lost on that awful merch booth. I literally didn't see one person purchase any of those kinect units or the SDOJ branded mice. They had boxes and boxes of them under the tables and around the booths. They were giving away small trinkets for trying different things. I did some kinda SDOJ kinect demo and got a printout of myself with one of the girls. It looks like I have no hair, and it's extremely pixelated. For doing this I got some kinda cellphone strap that wasn't even CAVE branded! It looked like it came from a less-than-Y50-store. Scrilla4rella got a giant cheeto that was in some SDOJ packaging for playing X360 SDOJ, and none of us could be bothered to play Ketsui PS3. No idea what the prize there was. The whole atmosphere of this place was one of "meh", and the only exciting moment came when Clover-TAC beat SDOJ on one credit, no-missing up until the final boss. He had no lives left when he beat her, and the place went wild with applause. We beat it soon after, because none of us cared about any of the other shit on the schedule. Ketsui superplay demo? Already got the INH DVD. Interview with the band that did the music? Couldn't care less.
I was a little sad for burgerkingdiamond and scrilla4rella that this was their first CAVE matsuri event. It was a sad affair, and bore little to no resemblance to the no-holds-barred events of years past.. Hell, the Akai Katana release event was miles better than what happened today.. and don't even get me started on how awesome the events were when they were held at HEY!. A lot more crowded, but a lot more fun... With actual merch that people wanted, cosplay girls, contests, matsuri exclusives, announcements about future products / games, as well as other oddities thrown in (a bullet-pattern art show?!) just for the hell of it. This is obviously a low point in CAVEs history, and I'm hoping they'll be able to right this ship before it goes over the falls.

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
Dunno about the slowdown, pretty much a good no-miss run with TAC on his last life near the end with a 21-something (billions, I guess) points, and since the shot there is projected from the Console->Projector (since some words like "Hyper" is near obscured) I think that's supposed to say "Score Fixed", I dunno what that's supposed to be but I guess someone would know once they pick it up one day.BPzeBanshee wrote:How's the slowdown? Oh, and nice pics rancor, I guess the event wasn't as much hype as it was or something, but at least some behind-the-scenes is rather good nonetheless.

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
If it's 'Score Fixed' maybe it's an option for the overflow bug?

I wonder what Clover-TAC was thinking, coming back from Wasshoi in Europe to this. The picture of the (lack of) people lining up for trying the port seemed a bit telling too. I was expecting more.

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
So PS3 Ketsui wa there too?
Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
yeah - it was there. They had a PS3 hooked up to a ~23" LCD on a table, and no more than 3-4 people were in line for it at any time. Not sure why all of these games were only playable with a pad. Shouldn't they hook sticks up to these?
Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
Quite sad to see compared to the Hey matsuris of a few years back.

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
End of an era.
Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
Given how popular Cave posters tend to be, I can't believe they missed a trick here by not selling them.
I personally would have killed for the entire set.

Man that looks dry. I've held better events in my bedroom.
I'm waiting for a B1 poster looking down 1st person perspective with the SDOJ lolis on their knees, mouths open as a bukkake shower rains in. "Dodge this you little sluts!"

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
I gave it a go. The PS3 dpad, as we all know, blows goats. I'm not sure if it was just the horrible pad or what but I ended up getting killed way too much, and I'm usually a decent Ketsui player. I was really struggling with the controls and with what appeared to be input lag. Someone on twitter said there was about 2 frames of lag but I'm not sure how they could have measured that.Shin wrote:So PS3 Ketsui wa there too?

Joke's on everybody since the prize for playing Ketsui on PS3 was a ticket for the Hirano-Mega-Gangbang White LabelKAI wrote:Aya Hirano mini-live fucking where?

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
the pictures make it look like your average (dull) Microsoft sponsored event rather than something for CAVE, everything from the themeing to the Microsoft mech + bits nobody wants. All things considered it surprises me there was a PS3 in sight.
I thought these events were where they previewed special versions of games nobody will ever be able to play again?

The mehness of the event resonated with the sadness of your posts here so the shock is double to me about how dull the event was...
Anyway, how were the "good times" matsuri? A little nostalgia could help brightening the mood of this thread :s

Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
I dunno, it doesn't seem that surprising considering they weren't really showing off much. Unlike previous years where they had the unique PCBs for score contests, the poster reprints, or had a handful of ports coming up, they were just showing off the SDOJ and Ketsui. It doesn't seem like they put much effort in to this one and they got a lame response.SuperPang wrote:Quite sad to see compared to the Hey matsuris of a few years back.

You mean me? Well it was tested with SFIV on 360 and PS3, and the ps3 has an input lag of a couple more frames than the 360.scrilla4rella wrote:Someone on twitter said there was about 2 frames of lag but I'm not sure how they could have measured that.Shin wrote:So PS3 Ketsui wa there too?

So any extra modes on ps3 or is it a straight port of Ketsui X?
Re: Cave Matsuri 2013 (5/5)
So it's probably too late to ask for PC ports, then...
Jesus, it's like every time I so much as hear about Cave, I instinctively start wondering why they are so adamant about not porting anything at all.
There might have even been an answer to that question on these forums, since I do remember reading about some company looking into this, but it seems nothing came of it.

That one was Capcom's fault. Correctly programmed PS3 games don't have any additional lag.Shin wrote: You mean me? Well it was tested with SFIV on 360 and PS3, and the ps3 has an input lag of a couple more frames than the 360.
