How do you check a PVM's usage?

Post by jdubs »

Hey Guys

I'm going to check out a monitor assuming it has relatively low usage. How do I instruct the PVM's owner to find the hours of usage?

Thanks,
Jim

I'm not aware of any PVM that tracks its usage.

I don't know of any PVM models that have usage information. I think that is pretty exclusive to BVM units. Anyway, it might be for the better--hours of use doesn't really mean a whole lot for these monitors. I'd make your decision based on the condition of the unit and the look of the picture right now. That should tell you all you need to know.

I don't have a PVM but only a Trinitron, doing the standard service code gives some data on the first screen.
Mine has been on for 27760 hours and is completely fine, though the colours were off at first.

I didn't think of doing this with my own Trinitron, I'll do that now, thanks
