I shouldn't mess up the guy's sales thread, so this is a follow-through from this thread. I flat out do not believe there are no bootlegs of Dracula X out there - though perhaps the ones out there aren't very good.
A bunch of guys on some French forums were convinced this eBay auction was a fake - note the extra text under the subtitle and to the left of the Konami logo.
So, what do you think?
PC-Engine bootlegs besides Sapphire?
Re: PC-Engine bootlegs besides Sapphire?
I've never run across any aside from the Rockman and Space Fantasy Zone boots. The text on that eBay Dracula X game literally says "Advertising copy - not for sale", so I'm guessing it is what the seller says it is.
Re: PC-Engine bootlegs besides Sapphire?
Back in 1995 when PSX bootlegging started in HK and Taiwan, I remember that a dealer where we bought our first PSX boots, had some rare PCE title on offer as well. Wasn't interesting at that time and possible CD-R only, but given that the PSX games were all factory-pressed, maybe the PCE titles were as well (including Dracula X).

I vote fake: the Japanese sounds "weird" at best.

Perfectly matches the subtitle of the game - 血の輪ロンド廻GaijinPunch wrote:I vote fake: the Japanese sounds "weird" at best.

Bootleg HuCards are out there as well. I posted some comparisons in this topic. Bootlegs from the 90s were cute, as most of them really didn't care how obvious it was.

I'm really surprised there aren't any Sylphia or Darius Plus (or whatever that one is) floating around. I've got a Sapphire one, myself. Pretty damn convincing.
