Hi All bit of a long time lurker first time poster.
Having a bit of an issue with my Jap White saturn. It's developed some video corruption/glitches which I assume has something to do with one of the VP chips. If this is the case does that mean it's toast? What could cause such an issue?
Here is a quick video of the issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36PCAnE_lv8
Cheers

Re: Saturn video glitches
Since the sprites look right my first guess would be a problem with VDP2 RAM. Do the glitches show up immediately or only after the system has been running for a while?

Re: Saturn video glitches
the glitches start as soon as the system starts even the sega Saturn logo is garbled.

I don't have an answer but I had a similar graphics garbling issue with a US Sega Saturn (model 2 with the JP controller) years back. From what I read online, it's one of the more common issues that kills SS consoles.
