Weird video issues with Youtube on my PC...
This has been going on for the last day or so-I'll click on a video on Youtube to watch it, and then it just goes completely to the end, without any video. Or, it ends before it's supposed to.
I updated Adobe Flash Player today, and it's still happening. Is it an issue with Youtube, or with my PC?

Skippings are usually cache related - try clearing it out? ... which browser are you using and/or is it doing the same in another browser?

OK, thanks! I did clear the cache, but I'm still having problems with certain videos skipping, while others play all the way through. Others on Youtube have commented about this, so I suspect it's a problem with the site itself.gray117 wrote:... http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how ... efox-cache

Flash is a mess, as usual.
http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
This is the best website to use to update Flash. (Other Adobe pages will try to give you versions of Flash bundled along with junk, so they can make money, but you don't have to deal with it.)
What you want to do on most installations of Windows is download Flash twice: Once for Other Explorers (this includes Firefox), and once for Internet Explorer (because you never know, it's just nice to have - this is the ActiveX version, and is put together with technology incompatible with the other plugin).
You may have covered this already, but it can't hurt to be more explicit about it.
tbh when Windows gets uppity I just nuke it and start over (backing up whatever I need to).

I don't think it's a Flash problem.
Also, I have the exact same issue. Fuck youtube, basically. It happens on my phone as well as my PC. Probably would happen on my Xbox360 as well if I tried to watch youtube there.

happens to me too.
I am using chrome.
Most of the time this happens with long videos.
But, if you let the video sit for a while at the thumbnail-end-screen, about 30 seconds later - the video starts. You will hear it. Then you can use the timeline to skip to the beginning of the video.

What's an unresponsive script? This is something that I've been having a lot of trouble with lately on our PC. Windows asks if I want to continue or stop the script, but the answer doesn't seem to matter that much. What, if anything, can I do about this?

Re: Weird video issues with Youtube on my PC...
Browser related probably either and/or:
i) Browser has a badly made plug in/extension, or has a plugin that is interferring with the standard operation of another.
ii) Site being viewed has badly made content for said plugin(s)
iii) Site/service is attempting something that is being blocked (probably for good reason) by your browser/anti-virus/windows.
iv) Operation of the plug-in/script is being interrupted by something else on your computer - I wouldn't jump straight to malware since I presume you'd notice this before hand.
Typically (not to be dismissive of what seemed to be a (regional/time based?) issue with youtube above) you would not expect to experience unresponsive script errors when say navigating a generally decently made site such as youtube with a decently managed plugin such as flash. This is not to say they're perfectly crafted sites/plugins
, but that you can generally trust such errors on such sites as warnings.
You can boot firefox with these disabled to potentially help rule in/out your browser plugins: firefox orange tab>help>restart with plugins disabled
What mozilla says about it:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/wa ... ive-script
...
I take it you've done the general malware checks and ensured there are not excessive/unwanted plugins installed and/or other programs on your computer that could interfere with firefox? [Firefox orange tab> addons to check what extensions/addons have been installed].
What sites/content (all?) seem spark off unresponsive script warnings?
Typically I'd be wary of 'shopping'/'price comparison' plugins/malware attempting to hijack your browsing. Others could include streaming video sites that want their own plugin installed that may be interfering with something like flash/divx... Others could include chat plugins that may be interferring with java scripts or similar... but yeah those are only typical examples imho...
Hope this helps!

Long shot, but maybe ad block related? There have been numerous problems with abp and yt in the past.
