It's long and bloated, but if you like giant robot anime you'll probably enjoy it. It's a pure shooter, but very lengthy and filled with references.

I like it when people use "WTF" in their topic's subject line. It sounds so sophisticated.

Ah yes, Geppy-X: 70's Robot Anime shmup title for the PSX -- it tends to not take itself seriously by paroding itself with fake but cool TV commercials for Geppy-X toys and related merchandise. Most serious shmup titles won't make fun of themselves like Geppy-X does and it does a good job. If Aroma were to re-release it as a single disc compilation for either the PS2 or PS3, it would save on havng to load up multiple discs... ^_~

It does have a lot of kick-ass anime cut scenes interspersed between stages...if you like that kind of presentation in your PSX games.

The ending theme song played during the final end-stage boss showdown is cool...

It was kinda hard to find brand new in Akihabara but I managed to snag a new copy for 6,800 yen after reading about it in Gamefan magazine touting it's praises. It does come in a standard double CD case which'll fit in existing CD storage racks with no problems...

So the title "70's Robot Anime: Geppy-X" didn't provide you with a subtle hint that the game might be anime-related?

It was funny/humor and Ceph just pointed out the irony of his surprise!

Holy Crap, why have I NEVER heard of this game until today.

Multiple Endings, Hot-Blooded Music...COMMERCIALS, OP & ED themes, wow...

How come nobody's reviewed this sucker as a Feature Article on this site!?!?

Wonderful game if you "get it" so to speak. It's meant to be a fun silly romp and it's an amazing one.

Indeed - a couple of IQ Clicks above Netspeak. Why not use standard Grammar? Ah, I forgot; they don't bother teaching Grammar any more.
