I have a question about color calibration and contrast settings. I've scoured the Hardware section and was unable to find an answer.
I've read that having a high contrast can be detrimental to your CRT over time, yet if I crank my contrast dial on my PVM to the max, it looks much better than being in the middle. That being said, the internal settings for the contrast are only around 65. It looks great with the knob cranked to max, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm somehow losing TV health or not understanding what "good contrast" looks like or what I should be aiming for.
If it helps, here are my settings.
Color Preset: D65
R: 785
G: 700
B: 480
Sub Control:
Contrast: 65
Brightness: 0
Every other knob on the front is set to the middle.
I believe my monitor has already been calibrated, but mainly I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for bringing out the best color and contrast for this particular PVM.
Thanks!

I don't know exactly what settings the L2 has, but watch my video review of a 1454QM here http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... zfpehUepCv, the review explains how to use virtually all the settings. It was the predecessor of the M series which were the predecessor of the L series. The auto colour does make a difference.
