XRGB Vertical Sync Issue?

Post by NWrain »

I finally got my hands on another XRGB-1. The line doubling is great, the speed is excellent, and it has been compatible with every display I've thrown at it.

The only issue I'm having are these bars. I was wondering if anyone has encountered this issue with Xrgb 2, 2+, or 3? Is this the weak vertical sync issue Fudoh mentioned in his reviews? I've been using a Euro scart to JP21 converter, and JP21 cables direct to the machine, but I still see these bars. If anyone has any information to share, I would appreciate it.

I can't believe I forgot to mention that.

I have tested using RGB these consoles:

Sega Saturn Model 2
RGB modded N64
SNES (1 Chip-03)
SNES (unsure what revision)

I know the N64 and SNES are using composite video for sync. I'm not sure about my Sega Saturn cable. I get these bars on all the consoles I tested. I even get these effect using composite.

I tested with a PC Engine, and a PS2, and it is the same. Does anyone have any ideas if this is normal with the XRGB series?

never had a XRGB-1, but it's certainly not normal on the 2, 2+ and 3.

Did you test this on a different monitor/display ?

I tested on three displays, and I can see the effect. Other than the bars, this thing works pretty well. Anyways, my curiosity has been sated with this thing now that I got my Framemeister repaired.
