Are we EVER going to see a home port of Spica Adventure??...

Post by dave4shmups »

Geez, this game seems sadly destinted to forever be confined to arcade cabs and Japanese cell phones. Is there any chance that we could see a port of this game on any console, domestic or import??

I don't get the premise. Unless you have a firm proof that Taito has said no to a port, of course. Not that a sort of "victimistic " ("oh damn, there's this cosmic cospiration that prevents games to be ported so, opening dramas on a forum will magically solve things") attitude really helps, no?

Well....there's no mention of a port, either current, or upcoming, if you type in the name of the game in Gamefaqs. Diddo with the game's official website.

Randorama, you seem to be the one with the problem of drama, conspiricies, and attitude, because all I was doing was asking a question. There's no need for you to flame every friggin' question I ask on these forums.

See? It is actually possible to answer a question politely, without flaming. Who would've though?
Dave if you are so fucking kind and magnanimous in your posting how come you couldn't skip the opportunity to make that little remark?

You're either part of the problem or part of the solution homie. You choose.

I didn't know that. Whatever, I'm sorry I even asked this question. I'm not even going to ask the mods to close this topic, so you all can flame me to your heart's content, I could care less.

Ask yourself why Randorama couldn't skip the opportunity to accuse me of everything from dramatism to being some kind of conspiratist or victimistic when all I was asking about was the possibilty of a home port this game,, first. But you make a good point, I will delete that post.

Alright, Randorama, and others, I apologize for taking out my angst at my current job situation on you all; I had NO right to do so.

I wouldn't mind seeing this game on the PS2, but I am personally hoping most for a DS port-I plan on getting DS, and a DS port would make since for Taito since they're actually doing a new Bubble Bobble game and a new Rainbow Island game for the DS.

I don't, and if you avoid acting like opening a drama will get you ports, it's better for you (we all know about your problems, and you know well that there persons who enjoy your random "omg why they don't port this??..." because they can laugh at your back).
Some self-control would help a bit, no? At least for you, i'd add...

I'd add that if you look at gamefaqs, you won't get too many infos . Beside that, i'd check directly the Taito page, they usually add tempestively their new ports.

I'm sorry but I don't see the drama in Dave's question. He simply asked if we'd see a port of Spica adventure. A simple "No port has been announced at the moment" would have been a good, straight answer.

He's made mistakes in the past, but I don't see what's wrong with his question. It's time to stop picking on him.

I'm not one to pick on Dave, but I have to say the question was a waste of space. If a port was announced, we would know. Otherwise, there's no point in speculating since nobody knows. If Taito said, "HAY GUYS! We're never porting this!" we would know.

Dave is a reliable trader and all-around decent human being. I've dealt with and talked with him via pms/emails and he's a nice guy. Just has the anxiety problem+associated difficulties which make him create such threads. Not that I've never made stupid threads before...

I'd suggest not to defend the mistakes that someone else does and apologizes for, though. The argument is not Dave in general but this specific thread.Thanks.

Beside that, I would keep an eye on this page . Or: "Does have Taito a site that's easily browsable without knowing a word of japanese"?

All I can say is that I love platformers, and Taito has made some great ones. And there have been games that have been out in arcades less then 6 months and gotten home ports. And yes I know how to browse Taito's site, I have done so many times.

And also that refusing to accept sincere apologies is completely unreasonable. I admitted my faults in taking out some anger over my job situation on others in this thread; if you cannot accept that, Randorama, and others, I don't know what else to say.

I'm just more then a little tired of the constant bashing I receive on this site for asking perfectly legitimate questions in a perfectly legitimate part of the forum. (Or even for expressing an opinion, as I did with Turok Evolution.) If had posted this in the main section, then I would expect some griping, but this is ludicrus.

I think the point here is that you asked a question that nobody can answer except for Taito. And you already have the links to appropriate sources to find out if they ever do announce a port. So I see this more as a thread to start bitching that something hasn't been ported yet, and not a "legitimate question".

Just my unbiased observation.

Now what the heck was rude or flamey about my post there? And the second was merely frank. Not rude, unfriendly or anything like "bashing" you.

There is no hate in this thread.

I agree with both parties here. Dave has a legitimate question, but because of his history of asking similar questions over and over, he gets flamed.

I believe there are a few bully's on this forum that are just going to reply to one of his threads because they want to belittle him. I am happy that I have other forums to go to which have a higher level of tollerance for these kinds of people.

Geez, the drama.
