Sure

EDIT:

If you decide to want me commenting, I would appreciate if you could tell me what replays you are going to show beforehand.

I reckon a Youmu-solo scoring run of IN would be most entertaining to watch for those who may not know too much about IN or Touhou.
It'd probably be good to show a full run with either Final A or B, and then show just the other Final on another replay if there's too much time constraint to show a full run. It's a bit of a shame to miss either of the Finals.
However, you can always show one of the other team/solo score runs as well if you plan to watch another whole run, this might let you also show the other stage 4 boss because of the whole 'IN having two different stage 4 bosses depending on which shot you're using' thing.

There's a lot you can see in IN, haha :P

Indeed. IN has quite a lot of things to do. The unlockable last words are pretty cool as well but if we were to show all IN has to offer then we'd be up all night haha.

Like Nindel, I think it would be a good idea to show off Stage 6A and the alternative Stage 4. However, just those two stages should be enough. While the style of play obviously changes from character to character, i don't think anyone wants to watch the same game being played through twice with the only variation being two stages being replaced.

If you want a bonus, throw in one of the pacifists of Yuyuko's Saigyouji Flawless Nirvana. In my opinion, it's the best spellcard in Imperishable Night and one of the better patterns in any shmup i've ever played actually. It takes takes only two minutes extra and it's awesome topping on what is already going to be a delicious cake.

If you were to watch a replay of Extra scoring, I'd recommend some run by ASL. Zengeku's runs are rather good, but they focus largely on survival, and you wouldn't see most of the grazing tricks. However, if you're interested in a survival replay, runs by Zengeku would be very good.

I'd also recommend SFN as a bonus. It's my favorite spell card in the series.

I would say use a team replay if you can find something good enough. Solo characters have to be unlocked and probably most touhou players won't even get that far.

These are the replays I'm pretty sure we're going with:

Lunatic full run - FinalB route, Scarlet Team (Stage 4A), ending score of 63億4087万4840点
Lunatic stages 6A and 4B - FinalA route, Youmu solo (Stage 4B), ending score of 50億6760万9960点
Extra stage run - Youmu solo, ending score of 31億0444万9400点

We currently have no one confirmed for commentary for this episode. Volunteers, please?

I am always available for commentary. I don't know if someone else wants to do it but it seems that all the people who knows IN the best aren't really up for it unfortunately. Personally I know IN's system rather well but my scores in the game aren't very good yet. I also have a friend who has done a lot of pretty good IN scoring who has promised to help me out with any questions I might have with regards to the replays in question.

Also, nice to know what replays you are going to use.

PS: The amount of people playing IN Lunatic for score in the west is depressing, at least according to the scoreboards. I hope the IN week will make some more people interested.

Imperishable night has a great scoring system and some cool milking techniques, glad to see it chosen.

and I don't know if it's okay since I just registered an hour ago, but if no one else wants to, I could do co-commentary with zengeku. I'm not a super expert, but I know my share of IN's system.

So... in the end... this has mutated into "who is worthy of comenting Imperishable Night?"...

I can't do it since I've only scored seriously in normal mode and with the Illusionary border team. But no one of the "Touhou is Harder" or "Which 2hu woud you fug" crew has volunteered...

Whoops! Sorry if we came across that way. We're just looking for at at least one "expert" player who can explain what's going in the expert replay. ALL commentators are welcome, and we hope they can make the episode airing time. Please PM either me or Aquas that you're interested and we will let you know the episode air time.

Cheers,
Frenetic

Episode is scheduled for Friday at 12pm CST (noon). Commentators are myself, Frenetic, Zengeku and Soda. Any last minute suggestions a commentator to add?

I volunteered to commentate, too. I prepared myself so I can give some in-depth commentation. if that's alright with you and frenetic, of course.

Oh no ohnoohnohno. Zengeku, no comments about which characters you'd fuck or which characters are hottest. Absolutely none. Zero. Zip. I'm not easily creeped out but you creep me out a lot when you do that.

I don't want people to think the Touhou fandom is a bunch of dirty old men who are attracted to young girls, and I don't like people sharing what they whack off to in a semi-public setting. I think that sort of overrules the potential comedy.

Isn't that what it actually is, though? Players who aren't talking about their waifus 24/7 are a tiny minority from what I've seen.

I don't know of the others, but I'm a 13-years old girl.

-

RNG, Zengeku and Sakurei have been educated in the games system and have been made knowledged on the replays by their friend if they so claim.

Also, both of them are rather good Touhou players and adults. Do you really think they couldn't control their lolicon while talking about a replay.

-

I've been on an IRC channel with some of the "best Western Touhou players" for a while now, Hagane. People mainly discuss of what kind of penises they like and how dragons are cool.

Haha what... seriously now, what's up with this thread?

RNG, your posts are all but an invitation for me to go lewdosaurus on you all. Though, I have actually planned to concentrate on going over the replays and what goes on in them. Besides, IN lolis are usually not my cup of tea so you're in luck.

I'm 5 minutes in and I don't know what the hell anyone is talking about...
30% this, time orb that, human milking... err what? Is it really that difficult to take things from the ground up, maybe starting with all the HUD numbers, control layout, overall goal for scoring, etc?

Perhaps we missed a certain emphasis on the details, but I feel like I got the gist of that from the guys. That does make more sense now, reading the short version there, though.

With larger systems like these, emphasis and repetition of the key elements and aspects will be vital to the understanding of the details. And breaking it down to simplicity, as well. I'll keep this in mind as we go forward. Thanks for the feedback, chempop.
