Display models - no assembly required?

Post by Spyke »

Hi all,

Just pondering - is there a range of readily available model ships available that are both good quality and inexpensive? And if they are pre-assembled or require only minimal assembly, that would be great too!

Thinking about the usual ship suspects: Vic Viper, Silverhawk, R-type R9, Raiden fighter plane etc.

Thanks!

I had the Madou-Goukin R-TYPE models, both the light grey one and the dark one. They're readily assembled, look very nice and don't cost a fortune. The base is quite huge though.

Search: shooting game historical for gasha sized figures. Dont pay too much for them though, there's a tiny silver hawk going for $80 on eBay.

I found a UK retailer (Genkivideogames) that sells the Yujin Shooting Game Jistorica range for reasonable prices (£4 each). They are random so specific ships can't be picked, but I thought I'd order one up and see what they're like.

Thanks for the pointers.

there's also a red one :O - i -think- i saw a blue one as well, but would have to check.

I have the light grey and the red and, yeah, they're pretty solid models.

I just received my first model: the ship from Soukygurentai (a game I'm completely unfamiliar with!).

Nice detail. Took a while to assemble, not being familiar with the design and having no instructions... ;)

Pleased though. Will show a pic or two at the weekend. Will buy more - really want a nice Raiden plane and Silverhawk.

The little raiden isn't very good. It's very flimsy with lots of loose wobbly bits to enable the transformation.

Hmm... might be better to build it and glue the moving parts in position perhaps. Thanks for the heads-up!
